a jw at a bus-stop got arrested while preaching to some kids.
it wasn't the preaching that got him arrested but the fact that he removed his clothes.

I read this article earlier and I want to comment on something that I have noticed. We all know that certain people are viewing this site (lurking), many before they have the courage to talk up to the society spying. So in light of that I want to make a comment. This article, as in many I have seen posted to discredite JW's, does not outright say it was a JW that did this. It states that this 23 year old went and started talking about JW's. If we read the newspapers we see that many out there that want to get others attention will use what they perceive to be a good attention getter. In the case of this guy, maybe he just knew that JW's preached at bus stops and knew people do listen. I think we need to quit jumping on everything we read, that remotely has the words JW in it and quit applying it without question as being done by JW's. Sure I would love for all of these to be true. But I am sure that a lot of them aren't. Can't we be careful in how we present these things so that it doesn't make us look like the fools because we assume that it was. without a doubt, a witness? To be honest with you, I think it makes us all look like fools out for vengeance.

March, why are you apologising (sp)? If you go to many a thread here you can see where someone can post and then edit within the same minute. 60 seconds may not seem like a long time but it can be long enough to accomplish posting on more than one thread.

Interesting observation here. Hilda states s/he does not have a grasp of the English language (granted, there are many in the U.S. that don't) but Hilda proclaims being from another country with a limited grasp of English. What I find interesting is this comment:

accuracy, from what I am hearing on the local news you are right. There is no mass exodus, but there is something to consider here. From local reports it appears the Catholic Church is hurting tremendously from the major drop in contributions

YHWYWhy, I guess I am not exactly sure what you mean by your question. If you mean am I "comfortable in my own skin" or comfortable with the choices I have made since leaving. Then the only thing I can say is...it's getting better. I am almost there. This board has helped me so much in that respect. I have dealt with the guilt of leaving because of family and I have felt so much guilt over your family. Now, I am somewhat coming to grips with it. Is this what you were asking?
