  if god made the bible for us then why has he made it so difficult to understand?.

  A memory from being a JW

  i remember when mum first started going (for the second time).

  she was disfellowshipped, thus no one would talk to her or me if i was with her.

  i kinda felt cut off too.

  At the hall I remember passing what I think may have been a kidney stone or something in the restroom.Lots of pain,moaning and groaning then it eased up.First thing I heard when I came out of the restroom was the speaker saying : "blah...blah....blah...MASTERBATION!!! "

  Restroom door closed behind me with a typical sqeak and folks actually turned around looking at me........

  if a spouse has been unfaithful and a legal divorce has been finalized is the marriage over in the church's eyes?

  i've been told by the elders that i must witness the adultry or provide two witnesses that can speak to the adultry.

  my ex-spouse will never confess to his past or current sexual acts.

  Anyway their eyes are blind so do what you want.An ongoing theme is folks are always worried about what THEY think.Do what you think is right.

  Anyone here actually witnessed an adultery? Porn does not count.

  I have no interest or desire to be a part of the JW cult. I have no desire to join any other Christian denomination. The reason I will not join any other Christian denomination is over their historical reputations and their belief systems. By historical I mean the religious wars,the inquisition,genocide,etc. Even if the religious denomination apologizes for its past I still have a problem with their acts in the past. It indicates to me that their actions were guided by human nature and not by a supreme being guiding them. I will not try and give my opinion of history but heres the point I am trying to make.

  Some of us leave for these reasons and then join other religious groups that have a bad history TOO.I mean 607 vs. Inquisition,etc. Which is worse ?
  

  
  
  Why would one be drawn to other groups with a reputation that goes back a thousand years and leave one thats still in its infancy ( 100 or so years) but approaching crib death?

  Watchtower comments that were extremely lame!!!!!

  i always remember a point to the watchtower study, was that your comments should be about something that meant something to you or something you learned from the experience.

  well, did anyone have a brother or sister in the congregation who did this .... "i would like to define the meaning to the most simplest word in this paragraph, to see if i can seem smart for knowing how to use a dictionary?".

  ... when i say simple word, i mean people defining "honor" or maybe something like "knowledge" or any other word a person with an education beyond the forth grade would know without the look-up.

  i haven't been involved with the jws in nearly five years now.

  i was raised as a witness from the time i was seven until i was 17 and a junior in high school.

  i don't have any particularly sad stories to tell, really, except that the process of leaving the organization--even though i was never baptised--was the hardest thing i've ever gone through.

  sometimes we get attached to certain products and they get discontinued for some reason.

  i miss my marcelle shampoo.

  it was the perfect hypoallergenic shampoo for me.. so, what do you miss?

  Humans like to explore,to ask questions,to find out why something is.We want proof of everything.It seems the things we can not prove we fear more or we are fascinated with.God,ufos,bigfoot,illuminati,etc.The things we know very little about seems to mystify us more.It becomes much bigger in our own minds than it actually is.We fear death the most I think.Is there something after this or are we just intelligent fertilizer?

  Most of the gods I have read about strike me as genocidal maniacs and need to take a Prozac the size of the planet Jupiter.They are too human.Crazy like me.
