after the little skit at the last assembly where one brother was asking another for understanding about the generation teaching i thought, "wow, these people will believe anything the watchtower tells them.
" the 'more mature brother' practically said verbatim everything the watchtower said as his explanation.
evidently, this is one of the sources of the increased 'murmuring' that the talked warned against.. so, has anyone brought this up to their witness friends and/or family?
Gary, your wife is on the same channel as mine. She is terrified of just dying. She can't deal with the ambiguity of not having some sort of plan or answer.
Would have to put my wife in the same boat, she states that she really wants to live forever on paradise earth, but the truth is a fear of dying and no plan for it.....and the WTS has given her this plan, though her prospects for living forever keep pushing out!

i've written a new article on what some jehovah's witnesses plan on doing after armageddon strikes.
i am sure you've been around witnesses that have said something like "oh i'm moving into that house after armageddon.".
The whole Paradise Earth doctrine in the way it is taught by the WTS is so counter the belief that god is a loving god, especially the way they portray the big A in the magazines, fire, explosions and all sorts of other horrific things, the deaths of the 7B non JWs will not be merely falling asleep, they are portrayed as being terrible, I guess this is their version of hellfire, you will not be sent to a place of eternal torment, but if you don't get in line and become a jw, you will have a horrific death.
i know a boe letter just came through approving use of electronic devices (ipads) at meetings for the wt, bible, cd-rom.
anyone care to post the original letter?.
I would guess they could add a 'hotspot' at the KH which would only allow access to the new and improved jw website so folks can download their 'spiritual food'.
When I read about this sort of stuff it seems like the WTS is in a panic mode and is casting a large net trying to find something that will work. Spend all of your time in service, don't get a job, the end is near......but in order to get fed you will need a computer, an internet connection and potentially a tablet of some sort to be able to read the literature on, unless of course you want to print it from home, which is also quite expensive.
It appears that the circle of the wagon's is getting ever smaller, more control over a smaller group.

if there was any question, that the watchtowers stance is for wives to simply take it when their husbands abuse them, this makes it crystal clear.. who the hell is scanning these things before they go to print?
Time to get this back out to the local agencies and news media, just wondering how one could get a network to look at something like this, maybe The View since one of them was a witness at one time?

Just a review of some of the stuff from the reasoning book on what makes a good marriage, of course looking at the headship items.....clean house, healthy meals etc...

Thanks for the bump, the upcoming wt study along with meetings like this weeks TMS where the issue of headship is reinforced really should awaken some as to the position of the society on women....but unfortunately it will not.
i have heard quite a few reports of how the invitation work has not been carried out as enthusiastically as it was last year.
during the 2011 campaign, many due to the reduced hour requirement pioneered for the month, some congregations had over 50% of its members doing this.
this year it has all changed, and even though some have made an extra effort, not nearly as many as did last year.
What still amazes me about the invitation is the way it starts with the 'how do you think of Jesus' and then continues with 'let us tell you'.

As the printing industry continues in the downturn, unless they continue to change the way they solicit donations from the members, it will be all about real estate (build more KHs and assembly halls, then in essence flip the properties) and reduce the costs (smaller printed magazines that can still have the same suggested donation).

I agree with IDRNOMO. I think they are asset rich but cash poor
another good reason to reduce the size of the monthly mags, its all about cash flow when running a business (printing company). Ink suppliers, paper manufacturers, gas stations and maintenance folks for the printing presses all want to be paid. Yes there are costs associated with a server farm, but much less than the printed material.
