I look at some of the older books like the Revelation book and one at least had to be able to think to understand what is being stated, and now they are going to simplified watchtowers........the whole organization seems to be 'dumbing down'.

What's The Biggest Difference In Today's JWs And The Witnesses From Decades Ago?
by minimus ini believe today's witnesses lack zeal, resolve, "love" of the "truth"......just to name a few things.. years ago, witnesses were excited to knock on doors and tell people they were gonna die if they didn't accept paradise.. now, when you see jws in service, they all look zombied out.. it's a slowly dying religion that will last probably forever like an ancient rotted out tree..

PAT ROBERTSON "Pat Robertson Asks If Mac And Cheese Is a 'Black Thing;' Raises Storm of Comments
by AvocadoJake inhttp://global.christianpost.com/news/pat-robertson-asks-if-mac-and-cheese-is-a-black-thing-raises-storm-of-comments-62941/.
pat gives his blessings to divorce your mate if they become sick.
"just make sure they are cared for, go ahead and date another man or women.".

Of all the obtuse things Pat Robertson has said, the mac & cheese comment is one of the least offensive/stupid.
Completely agree, he really is an embarrasement!

"Feeling sorry for yourself" about being hit by your husband is not Christian 2/15/12 WT Page 25 P 12
by yourmomma inhave anyone of you read, the absolutly jaw dropping paragraph in this article about a women who was hit by her husband?
its in page 25 of the 2/15/12 wt study edition (i read the dumbed down version).. .
if there was any question, that the watchtowers stance is for wives to simply take it when their husbands abuse them, this makes it crystal clear.. who the hell is scanning these things before they go to print?

A couple of more out in the mail this morning, one to another Women's Studies department chair and another to the sponsor and president of a campus group who works with domestic violence issues.

Have to laugh, we are having friends over for a big meal, originally going to be a turkey dinner but after my wife talked to her study sister we are having a standing rib roast ( which I will prefer). Have a happy thanksgiving.

I've had a bite, that's all I'm saying for now!
Good to hear, hoping to hear or see something from what I have emailed and sent out via regular mail, would love to get a campus group interested in this, if anyone can make an issue viral, a college student group can!

1914 a 100 Years on.
by Twisty ini was thinking that in 2014 or possibly 2015 a lot of witnesses will start questioning the organisation and we might even see a mass exodus.. i know at a stage i thought 2014 wow a hundred years surely the end will be here by then.. do you think the fact that it will be a 100 years since 1914 might trigger a lot of leaving and questions?.
or possibly they will still follow blindly, especially since the overlapping generations could go till 2070 or something?.
there very well could be a mass exodus type of domino effect since many are there sometimes whole families because of one strong mate/friend/relative, and one seemingly "strong" person leaving could take a few with him and make many more question, thus the domino effect.. thoughts.. .

But from a financial perspective, the one thing the WTS owns lots of is real estate, and as the economy improves, the value of the real estate should appreciate....

Where I think it could make a difference is with the folks that are potential JWs, with the efficiency of the internet there is so much information available and there are many publications such as the reasoning from the scriptures book which is still used but not adjusted for the generation change (see the last days section) that folks come upon. These people in their research may ask the questions and wonder why the end is not here, 100 years after the 'invisible return'.

For someone not brought up in the organzation this is a very valuable and eye opening read, not only into the WTS but into the ways many control groups are able to work and draw in people you would never imagine that they could!!
