Do any of the more recent WT studies deal with end times?? Also any good sources of information to be able to assist in refutation of some of her comments/beliefs on the end times. It is all so crystal clear to me that the WTS is pulling the wool over the eyes of its believers. A major concern is as she is reading the WT developed literature, she states and I think fully believes she is studying the bible?!?!

I myself am a UBM and this board has been fantastic with support as well as with answering questions and providing information when requested. Ask any question you may have and there are plenty of folks on this forum who have information and the experience to assist.

OK, now this is starting to make some sense, the sister called my wife and must have been speaking about this stuff, because in the same conversation she was invited to the assembly happening in a couple of weekends......any suggestions what I can do to get her thinking in a more critical manner before she attends, I am concerned she will grab the bait hook, line and sinker.....

And that seems to be the bait that is being dangled in front of her, because she asked a lot of questions of me last night on what I think armageddon is, what will become of the earth and if I believed in the creation story, why wouldn't I believe that is is 'Jehovah's' intent to return the earth to the paradise it once was. Was ironic how we got into a bit of discussion on the symbolism in Revelations and how she just babbled the party line on the figurative nature of the tribes and types of people who are going to be saved, but then fully believes the literalism of 144K. I also tried to ask her about I believe it was Revelations 21: 1-4 and the information about a new earth and she did not catch on with that at all.
Any information or advice is very appreciated.

I wish it were that easy, I am unsure which book she is presently getting her information from I believe it may be reasoning from the scriptures, but it is a hardcover book in spanish, which I do not read.
I have tried to discuss 'past performance' of the JWs with her, but she really does not see a problem with the shortcomings they have had. Generally she speaks and thinks with such reason, her mind just goes to waste when she starts reading the wts literature....

Getting tickets in advance is the way to go, because it used to fill up very fast in the morning, and they are only a couple of bucks and you can pretty much choose your entry time.

Richmond actually has some really good museums if you are at all into the Civil War, I believe the one is the Civil War Museum and the Whitehouse of the Confederacy is also very interesting. The downtown Richmond area has really come a long way in the past 10 years. There is an area called Carytown that is also pretty neat and monument avenue is also pretty interesting, with monuments of many of the Confederate Generals from the Civil War (or the War Between the States) and I believe one of Arthur Ashe which caused a bit of an uproar.
As for DC, the Holocaust Museum is an incredible place, but very moving and emotional (I have been four times and have still not seen it all), the Air and Space Museum is also wonderful as is the Museum of Natural History. If you want to take a tour of the Capitol Building, call your senator or representatives office and see if they can arrange it, normally can turn this around pretty quickly (much easier than the Whitehouse) and it is a personal tour by one of his or her staff members which can actually get you on the floor of the House Chambers if they are not in session. I also agree that Arlington and the tomb of the unknown soldier is an amazing site as well.
Washington is a great place for public transportation, pick up a metro guide, very easy to follow, cost effective and one feels very safe on it (unless they get in the Southeast Quad late at night). As for food in the DC area, the Foggy Bottom/GWU area has all types of food and it is a neat community.
If you are willing to drive a bit or take a bus, the National Cathedral is also pretty neat to see, and by heading up there you will drive down embassy row as well as past the Vice President's home at the Naval Observatory.
Have a great trip and good luck looking at colleges!!!

We might be moving to Mississippi-any advice?

I spent a fair amount of time there in the late 1990s supporting a job at what was then Ingalls Shipbuilding and have recently been there supporting other work and was considering relocating there as well due to work.
What was said earlier is true, the area did not fare well after Katrina and there is still a lot of work to be done in the residential areas. Some of the nicer neighborhoods seem to have been rebuilt somewhat quickly and I was amazed at the other infrastructure that is also back, such as new hotels, restaurants and many stores.
The shipyard there is doing very well and they seem to have retained a lot of their good workers and have a pretty good outlook, it appears that the new parent company, Northrop Grumman, is investing a fair amount to keep them as a very technologically advanced yard.
When I was looking to move there, would have ended up either in Mobile or Ocean Springs due to the schools, not sure what the state of the schools are however post Katrina.
One thing I will say however is the people there are absolutely incredible, each time I have traveled to Pascagoula I have never felt unwelcome and really do look forward to an opportunity to return!!!
