by cyd0099 inno, not the vodka, nor is it the book.
i write quite a bit online and this is some new blog-o-site from the company that recently bought live journal.
i've only had it for a day now but the picture, audio, and book features are becoming increasingly appealing.

What did the Watchtower Soceity REALLY say about 1975?
by Elsewhere inwell, read for yourself!.
click here to download the oct 8th, 1968 awake!
magazine that talks about the year 1975.

Please don't make me read it again, David - I get nauseous.
Question:
As close a reign as the elders keep on the congos, why would they allow the talk of 1975 to escalate? You notice that they are all over porn, hairstyles, glasses, shirts, marshmallows, tatoos, etc., how could they let publishers talk about 1975 being the year for Armageddon for over 7 years - and not write an article clarifying their position, until AFTER the fact? Surely "scuttlebutt" of that magnitude reached Brooklyn prior to that?

religious contentious objectors
by drew sagan inone of the 'major' points jws will come back at you with is that they alone are the only religion that teaches people shouldn't go to war.
off the top of my head i know that many followers in the 'church of christ' movement have held to this view, does anybody have a list of religions that teach this to their members?
sometimes just opening people up out of the witness bubble by presenting evidence that is conrtary to what they believe to be true is very helpful.

How to Revoke WTS' Tax-Exempt Status?
by doinmypart inthe irs (u.s. government agency responsible for collecting taxes & enforcing tax laws) can remove an organization's tax-exempt status if the organization has doctrine contrary to public policy, or it carries on propaganda.. as much as the wts prints on blood, not voting, shunning, etc.
which of these items can be submitted to the irs?
how does one submit a complaint to the irs?

Not sure of your grounds, but the starting point would be to contact the office of the New York State Attorney General.
They are responsible for non-profit compliance issues.

I love you JEHOVAH!!!
This posting stinks to high heaven and I believe Jeffro nailed the reasons.
The slightly breathless, hysterical tone added to the illogical conclusions she reaches makes me think of nothing so much as someone who is spewing as fast as she can, so she can leave the board. This type of apologist believes that if they dive-bomb in and jump out quickly they will not be contaminated by the apostate virus, but will have done a "witness."
Also, I've noticed that this type usually will not come back to read comments or respond to questions.
It would be a complete waste of time to respond to them, except it occasionally livens things up a bit!

What is going on here ...
by In Between inall of a sudden, there are a lot of members that have been here for a long time posting their 'good-byes... .
could it be that we are all wrong and they have gone back to the 'truth'?
*insert sarcasm here* .

I know people have asked this, but do you think a lot of people are starting to think about the "potential war" that is headed our way as something that was "predicted?" And know they think they are opening their eyes to something they think they haven't seen.
I'm thinking that you're trying to say something. Spit it out!

I have been out for 25 years, and I still have some dub episodes from time to time. Is that why you still wear the diaper?
Ahhh, Stealth! You set yourself up for that one! LOL!

Funny, I've been thinking the same thing. Quite frankly, the good-bye threads, for the most part, are boring. (Isn't that one of the eight deadly sins? "Thou shalt not be boring.") I mean, get over yourself already!
Sometimes there is a good reason to let us know what is going on, such as Dave and Mouthy. I think Mouthy was cancelling her internet since she was very clear that she was dropping out as of the 15th. I'm glad she let us know, and Dave as well.
I think of this as an on-line support group with a revolving door. A drop-in center if you will. I am here mostly for distraction. Having been out for over 30 years, I don't need a lot of emotional support. But being raised a JW is a life-long influence and its nice to come here and share a laugh and a thought with those who have had such uniquely similar experiences.
Thanks for starting this thread, LT.
