God led me to the JW congregation.
by jw ini rented a house in the late !970's and the contents in the home were given to me.. it happened to be books: ( making my life happy, revelation, children bible stories, listening to the great teacher ) i was enjoying the reading.. -----------------------------------.
a few years later began to notice awake magazines in doctor offices, and other public places and read them and enjoyed them.. ------------------------------------.
late 1980's my 7th son was 2 yrs.

OK believers, time to put up or shut up...
by Gregor inapparently, a large percentage of xjw's who post on this site have embraced some other form of god/jesus belief to replace the wt doctrine.
most of them fall into the "i accept the lord jesus christ as my personal savior" class.
they are still extremely attached to the old "forgiveness of sin through the shed blood of jc" line.

I do admit bad things happen and God doesn't stop it. I don't believe God does evil things. I hope God evens out the scorecard later. That is how I've reconciled myself to the dillemma.
jgnat: I agree! This is all we really do know for sure. This does not even assume that God exists - we just hope that somebody, somewhere is in control and will step in, either on this plane or beyond, and sort this out.
Anger at God is perfectly appropriate - we humans have been expressing it for centuries - if He's there, He can take it, (unless He's in a smiting mood) and it does a world of good to get things off your chest occasionally.

But in all fairness you must acknowledge that religous belief has, and still is today, been directly responsible for the cold blooded murder of thousands, millions.
LT: No such acknowledgement need be made at all.
Is it truly religion that causes wars, or is it merely a useful tool to stir the masses? Politics are often behind it, rather than genuine Godly fervour.
LT! Are you serious? The vast majority of wars are fought over religious/ethnic differences. Ever hear of 9/11? Suicide bombers? The Crusades? Besides, politics and religion are so often entertwined, they become the same thing. Yup, you're right that religion is a useful tool to stir the masses. And millions have died because of it.

Bizzy-Bee:
.Excuse me, but that was incredibly presumptuous and condescending, surpassed only by actually doing it - and with strikethroughs, no less!
I’ve been re-reading material on logical argumentation. Gregor’s question was very bad. If he wanted a “straight”, “logical” answer, he had to phrase his question differentlyYou did it again! This is a discussion board, I believe, not Argumentation 101. Honestly, it is difficult enough to get concise responses without going off on critiquing how questions are framed. We do have the option of not answering every thread.

Something will happen. When I do not know. by this I meant something big within 50 years such as major flu pandemic / famine / WW3
No doubt - but a halfway intelligent monkey could tell you that (not implying that you are a halfway intelligent monkey!) But what will it signify when it happens? Big things have been happening for thousands of years.
