by Gregor inapparently, a large percentage of xjw's who post on this site have embraced some other form of god/jesus belief to replace the wt doctrine.
most of them fall into the "i accept the lord jesus christ as my personal savior" class.
they are still extremely attached to the old "forgiveness of sin through the shed blood of jc" line.

my mother and her friend were talking at da weekend and they reckon we are not only in the last days but the last hours.
i know most of you dont believe that anymore, but do some of you still get scared by it.

they don't want young JWs to go to uni because they will become critical thinkers see the WTS for what it is and expose it. However Judah is safe being an organisation man.
I think it simply is a blatant example of the fact that the GB runs the WTS like a business - duh! - they analyze the market, size up what it will bear, figure the profit margins, do a "GOING OUT OF BUSINESS" sale every so often (1918, 1925, etc.) - and oh, yes - leave the business to their heirs (in this case, sonny-boy Judah Ben).
BTW, in this scenario, the "customers" are the rank and file. One born every minute.
But answer me this: If you were Judah Ben, would you really give a rat's a$$ whether or not the 'business' is legitimate? After all, it's been around for over 100 years. Who cares if the product is crap as long as the R & F still buy it?

What kind of safety precautions do dubs take for field service?
by Check_Your_Premises indo they provide guidelines about safely entering homes?.
if a jw enters a home for the first time, what kind of safety precautions are taken by the car group to ensure the safety of the jw?.
for instance i was shocked to find out my jw wife wasn't instructed by the elders as to which homes belonged to registered sex offenders.

There was a (no doubt apocryphal) urban legend-type story back in the old days about two lone JW women who witnessed to this man at his door without incident. It later came out that just before they had arrived, an Avon lady had been at his door and he'd dragged her inside and murdered her. When he was asked later why he had not assaulted the witness women he said incredulously, "Why, because there was a man with them." The spin in the congo was that an angel had appeared behind the witness women to protect them.
This story made quite an impression on me at the age of 10. I took fearless risks - because I figured I would be protected, too, since I was doing Hovah's work.

Because I was "born into" the bOrg, I can honestly say that everything bad that has ever happened to me can be traced directly to my JW upbringing that led to:
- lack of opportunities
- missed opportunities
- lack of practical experience
- lack of practical knowledge
- lack of education
- guilt
- impaired self-esteem
- depression
- isolation and alienation from peers
- nearly disabling shyness
- cognitive dissonance (confusion)
- lack of true spiritual growth
- compromised employment opportunities
I could go on, but you get the idea.

What was the first thing Adam said when he set eyes on Eve?
by ballistic inaccording to the bible he decided to name her "woman".
in the previous verses he had been on an exercise to name all the beasts of the field and birds of the air.. personally, if i'd been wandering around a paradise garden on my own for years naming animals and suddenly set eyes on a perfect naked woman, i think i would be inclined to invent the first swear word.. although later, when eve gave birth, adam said it had been "with the lord's help".
so maybe he wasn't quite as spontaneous as i'd imagined, or maybe adam thought god was serious when he said she was a "helper".
