What if a "leader" defended people rather than judging and punishing them?
by DavidChristopher ini have often wondered this...everyone wants to be a leader.
so if a leader defended people, and others wanted to be like him, would everyone defend others now it seems "cool" to be a punisher and judge, what if the president changed and started defending people accused of things?
jesus that i read about would, and did.

A concerted effort during a watchtower study?
by mkr32208 inwas thinking about this today!
what we need to come up with is something like crazies 586/7 list from watchtower sources showing the kings list.
then next time they have a prophecy watchtower study we could all go to different halls where no one would know us and have a prepared answer typed up with watchtowerese language something like;.

So you want to try the "thief" method huh? Well...I belive it workes too. But what about the commandment "thou shalt not steal"? I found another interesting approach to this. Go find a busy intersection, make you a little sign out of cardboard Will work for truth, wisdom or ect. Make sure you wear your best suit too. One guy gave me a coke. I didn't learn a damn thing though execept KY is cold in Dec. But the stares were priceless. we don't have many freedoms left anymore, so I intend to break up the dull daily routine, and use the "freedom of speech" to its fullest. let me know how the watchtower idea works, and I will see if I can sneak back in too and try it. i am always up for a challenge. I could always go to one where they didn't know me....hmmmmmmm

You know, If I even think I know enough to quit searching, then I would be in the same rut as our misguided friends. If I ever forget I am a student, and think for one moment I am a teacher, I am as good as lost. I have a teacher, Jesus, the Word of God, the bible. I believe and hope he can become everyone elses teacher as well. I would not want a bunch of people who didn't know me, teaching my kids about me if I was away. Would you? I am completely satisfied being a student, as I am always learning new things. Further, I would be quite content being a son of God, but I don't want to be God, there would be nothing new to learn. i never want new information to become a threat to me, as I think is going to happen to them in due time.
Hard on myself? no I would say I am being "honest" with myself.
You know, if I was ever to attain the opinion of being the wisest man on earth, it would be only because I realize the extent of my own ignorance. And it would be my duty to share it all freely with everyone, to make everyone equal to me, AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. I realize it would be a threat to others who try to horde it, sell it, to remain superior over others, I would have to say they can kiss my ass.

Jesus, the people of his day, and of theology
by drew sagan ini'm sure this has been discussed before on this board, but since i'm new i'll throw it out there anyway.
the watchtower never reveals what the people (mainly jews) of jesus day held as to the afterlife.
it is true that the scribes and pharisees had terrible ideas mixed with greek philosophy and that they stumbled the people.

He was given orders to relay to the rich in the "present system of things", He was told to observe the commandment until the manifestation of Jesus Christ, And what predictions or prophecies did he get his "gift" from? I also liked the order to reprove 5:20 before all onlookersthose who practice "sin"? also 2 tim chapter 3. How did Paul know, what things were going to be like in 2,000 years? And why did he tell Timothy? In fact, alot of those letters seem to be directed to the future, the last days. Or am I off course again?

I have a couple of questions about the bible..Please help! Elders got upset
by DavidChristopher ini tried to ask elders and they got upset with me.
if bad associations spoil useful habits, why did jesus do it?
why is nothing new ever discovered from the bible?

I would do it in a second, but I cannot be DFed As I was never babtized, I only made it 3 weeks before being ejected. I really have no fear in doing that... Why should I? Jesus would not get upset about it. In fact, I suspect that is worshiping Him. If I was killed for it, well i would be in good company. I would say according to their judgement I would have a serious "authority problem" My Mom said today that you are "jerks" for questioning these things as I do, So I asked are you saying I am a "jerk"? She said "no" . I always ask her if I am doing anything "wrong" by searching the scripures, and she always says "no". I am waiting for her to tell me I am wrong for doing that. Even better, I can't wait till she trys to prove it! Give me one scripture that can be twisted to say this is wrong. I am sick of seeing spendind their entire lives putting their faith in, and chasing a bunch of blind guides "wisdom", and trying to measure up to THEIR ideas of what "perfect" is. I would like to see people questioning and putting faith in the bible as I have. I have not been disappointed one bit. Is "work" really "work" if you enjoy what you do?

What would be even better, is being there, and having Holy spirit, to speak for us, like it did through the apostles. You know, they sure hated Stephen for what he told them. Did he do anything wrong? Guess the truth hurts pretty bad when you are doing wrong. You know, wisdom is being able to recognize mistakes, learn from them, and correct them. Makes you wiser I think. But if you cannot come to terms with your shortcomings and admit them, how are you going to grow, or get wiser? "give disipline to a wise man and he will love you, give it to a stupid man and he will hate you for it." Isn't that a proverb?

well, I guess If He judges them, then he knows their hearts, Me, I can't, so I have to try my best to convice them to turn back from their evil ways. Would that be the "right" thing to do? Is that what He would want me to do? Is it what they would want me to do? Problem is, I guess I don't know enough truth yet, so it is back to searching for more. I don't think the truth is found in a awake either.

I have the same situation here. I feel like finallyfree, She would listen if I wore a suit and built a podium to exalt myself on. She has admitted many times I have points she she can't dispute, yet that is far as she will go. She is afraid to ask her "elders" about them for fear of being pitched out like me, or maybe even stoned. My Dad on the other hand, he is out. we found out together that they have the same goal as satan. Heres how it went down....He was explaining to me what satan wanted what his goals were...It came to me...Dad, do you realize that you just decribed to the same goals as religous leaders, and the organization? At that was that, It was awesome. Me and dad just agree now when we talk about these things. I think they even stopped the "shepherding calls" to him now. You know, my mother seems to care so much for these people, yet she would rather let them be led, and herself as well by blind guides. She kind of reminds me of Lot's wife. I have not set foot in a KH in a long time, wonder what would happen if I went to a BS and asked a few questions in front of everyone? Maybe I could get some answers. Would I be wrong for doing that?

D Dog, I am not sure, I have read it "inside and out" looking up every footnote and tracing them down. Making "war" is done different ways by different people. The truth itself is a powerful sword, that can destroy a lie very quickly. If people are accepting someones lie as the "truth", what happens when the real "truth" comes on the scene? Kind of cool actually, like punishing peoples deeds, rather than them themselves. i am confident that the God I serve is not going to destroy millions without first bringing HIS truth to light. Would it be right to kill a bunch of ignorant people, who can't tell a lie from the truth? this is a question God himself posed to Jonah. It would warm my heart to see all the powerful "organizations" running around trying to convince everyone that they "believe" that the truth is the world is really flat! Because, once the truth is known, that is exactly what their efforts will amount to. I never seen a "theory" overpower a "fact". Try convincing me to touch a hot stove because it won't really burn me.

Yeah, that would probably be a more accurate description. That is what I have come to love about sharing information, when you do, you get smarter. Thank you peacefulpete! By the way, Did you learn that from the WBTS? I suspect that you didn't. I don't remember seeing that in a awake.
