I'm not an attorney (although my mom is and my grandmother was a judge) and this is not legal advice....just one homeowner to another.
Consider this: If you now know everything about that evening and do nothing it could be argued (perhaps successfully) that you are tacitly OK with their visit. Now suppose one of the JWs, who might be uninsured, develops a back problem that supposedly occurred during his "visit" to your home?
It is a stretch but, might he sue you for his injury? If you think that is a stretch, think of the "attractive nuisance" laws. Think of robbers who are shot while committing the robbery who sue the person being robbed. There is an endless list of possibilities. Especially considering the animus that exists and the attempts to prevaricate
My only point is that you don't know what you don't know. Perhaps a report to the police without actually pressing charges would be a reasonable response.
Stranger things have happened. I would want to have an official record of what actually happened.

Jehovah's Witnesses and Racism
by karnage ini have been wondering and trying to find some information into whether the wtbs has ever played the race game.
when i see pictures of the society of old, all i see is white people.
i don't see any blacks, asians, hispanic, or mixed (black and white or whatever) couples.

A more compelling analysis might take into consideration what society as a whole was saying at the time.
Judging these quotes by 21st century standards is suspect.
Judging the quotes by how deviant the quotes are from "mainstream" thought and publications of that time would provide more insight.

FWF Disavows GB on 9/7/75
by compound complex induring the gilead school graduation exercises, september 7, 1975, fred franz admitted to the students and their families that no governing body existed during the time of the apostles, nor one since then.
he had already concluded that the doctrine of a governing body from the days of the apostles to the present was a false teaching.
as franz revealed the unscriptural nature of the doctrine, his audience sat in bewildered silence.

JeffT...I guess I just made up the following article:
Swalker,
I'm certain you didn't "make it up" but...I'm fairly certain it is not from a major news outlet (http://www.republicandictionary.com/article_environment.shtml) . Is that website your source?
To post the article without identifying the source, especially when it is a clearly biased source, makes me wonder about how you consume and digest the media.
Do you eat your media-vegtables, too....or just left-wing (which even you won't deny that website is) red meat? :-)

True, but you're also talking some 30-plus years ago when that article was written. There has been a wee bit of new technology and research projects done in the last third of a century, and guess what? You might want to take a look at that. It's easy to be a nay sayer on this, though there are fewer and fewer of you, it seems. Even the oil companies are talking about climate change. Maybe all these scientests are getting on to something.
You misunderstand. I am not taking a position on this....other than the evidence is not in and that artifically created windows of technological advances only serve to obfuscate the real issue....that we don't know. Maybe we will, maybe we won't but ....regardless of how loud "scientists" clamor, it is only speculation.
A wise poster on this board once wrote about a different issue (http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/10/126408/1.ashx) "I've seen how emotional this issue is in discussions on this board, but I have to say that the level of anger it creates when someone questions fundamentalist beliefs is more than a little scary."
In light of the fact that I am not taking a position, simply noting that the scientists' positions change in an eye-blink (30 years is very short when dealing with climatic change, without regard to new technologies), and yet you are labeling me a "nay sayer" (sic)... it seems that this is an emotional issue for some.
A good question(s) to answer "scientifically" might be: "Am I being persuadded by the current politically correct messages? Would I have been screaming about man-made, earth-cooling activities 30 years ago in response to those scientists?"
Please refrain from putting words in my mouth like "It's easy to be a nay sayer on this, though there are fewer and fewer of you."
I am not a naysayer. I am not a non-naysayer. My point was never about whether there is or is not "global warming." My point was that the scientists' views on the matter change rapidly and that there appears to be a bandwagon effect. Thank you.
