i've got two boxes full of watchtower and awake magazines dating back to 2000 maybe abit further.
should i just trash them?
Make a bonfire and toast marshmallows
Make sure they are apostate marshmallows though, the virginal white type don't repond well to 4 color inked paper and may give you unsatisfactory results

Depending on how you feel about leaving etc, a good bonfire or campfire send off could be quite cathartic. Of course it could just be that I'm a bit of a pyro. . .
i've just had some shelving put up by my mother's husband...and she is coming round to look at my library.. she is jw..... what will she think of the books i have on there?.
would you let a jw relative see your library?.
some books:.
I don't have much of a library (downsized with my last move) but what I do have is The Satanic Bible (xmas pressy), All of the Anne Rice Vampire Chronicles (sex, violence, the undead), The Orwellian World Of Jehovah's Witnesses and various Green Witchcraft books.
I'm sure my maternal unit would express something about "Satan's books", no other dubs would get that far into my place

So, I'm coming up on 3 years (or so) of being involved with the exJW community. I can't begin to remember all the JWd folks I've already had beers with let alone pick a handful that I would like to. Basically, I'd love to have beers with all of ya!
ok, so having been raised as a jw, i never celebrated my birthday.
well, i am coming up on my birthday pretty soon (i'll be 25, yay!!
) and i am determined to celebrate it!!!
Me? I'm happy as hell with a few adult beverages (or smokeable alternative) and kickin it at a bar with a couple friends. That's not for everyone tho (esp with a dubby hubby). So here are a couple of things I did for my former spouse on her bday (her's was in December so some of these may not work in the summer).
- Spa/Massage treatment. Always fantastic and can range from a simple massage to a full pampering (hey, you lived this long, you should be rewarded )
- Hockey game. She was a fan (really) so I took her the first time (all suprise bday style) and several of her long lost friends the next.
Damned stoner memory! That's all I got off the top o' my head.
I'd say take yourself to a nice dinner somewhere and have something you've always wanted to try or don't get to very often. Take yourself to a good movie that you want to see or take a nice drive and enjoy the scenery. Pretty much, make this your day and do whatever your heart desires. You're free from the expectation that you must give up all personal happiness for the hive, make up for lost time!
I'm with Priest on the pain
Changeling, it'll depend where you get it and how "heavy handed" the artist is. The ankle was 3 hours of toe curling pain (all bone, nerve and tendon). My calf pieces almost tickled, and the back was relatively pleasurable for the first 2 1/2 hours
Be forwarned that they are addictive though, after 3 hours of toe curling pain (ankle tat) I was hooked and promptly got my second tat within 5 months or so. After a long break, I got the backpiece I posted earlier in August of 07 and again followed up with more ink (calf piece still in progress) within a few months.
Of the 4 pieces I have, only the first one (ankle) is less than happy for me. It's not that I regret getting a tattoo, it's that I regret not putting more time and thought into it. Mediocre work by a mediocre artist, not the way to go.
Take your time, pick something imortant to you, find an artist who's work takes your breath away.
Here's my favorite piece (of 3 complete plus 1 in process)
