Did you remember to put your pants on before you went and got the newspaper? I seen an older lady come outside in her grannie panties and fiddle around in the yard for a bit before she went back inside. I know she, probably, didn't even notice that she didn't have a robe on.
I put salt in the refrigerator and laundry too! No, I'm exaggerating! I think! My biggest fear is that I will stop talking like my aunt and uncle did. Sometimes, I just don't care to talk. I hate talking on the phone. My aunt and uncle stopped talking at very early ages...

Obama's Comments on 'Small Town' Voters- Sadly, he nailed it
by nvrgnbk incall him an elitist if you will, but he simply voiced an honest observation.
in rural pa, many people tend to vote based on the fear that the dems will force them to have abortions, confiscate their hunting rifles, burn their bibles, and make interracial gay marriages mandatory for their children.
economic stimulus and improved educational opportunities be damned!.

I mean if he made similar statements about one of those "untouchable" groups who may hold the opposite views to those "small town" folks.
When he says it, I'll have to read the whole story before I rush to judgement. Do you believe that only White people live in small towns?

Obama?!?!?! You have GOT to be kidding me! I can't believe anyone would openly admit they are for the guy. I hope that koolade went down smooth, get your heads out of the clouds people! I can handle having a difference of opinion with folks I like, but this is beyond the pale! I'm out. Makes me sick. RD of the "Decision 08, they are ALL vermin, all three of 'em" disgusted sheep class.
Are you still opposed to voting? I remember when I use to say "My guy isn't running" when people asked me if I was voting..."Man can't direct his own step". I've voted several times since I've been out; but "My guy" didn't win. Well, I did vote for Pres. Bill Clinton.

Ms. McDucket: Just google "Henry Ford and anti-semitism." Funny you should mention the model-T, that car served as the "inspiration" for Hitler's Volkswagen, the "people's car" [in German, "v" is pronounced like the English letter "f," and the words, der volks means "the people's"].
I never did like those Volkswagens! I thought that the "beetle" was ugly; and people would say they were hell to keep up and that the parts were expensive, which added to my dislike of the car. The Model-T was before my time; but it looked cool in gangster movies. I had no idea that Mr. Ford was a hater; but I still think the quotes can be used by all for self-improvement. Now that I know more about his background, I'd be more discerning about where I'd post his quotes. I, definitely, wouldn't want to give the wrong impression. I'm learning more from the internet than I did from my history and business management classes.
I have owned several Fords. My first car was an old Thunderbird.

In 1918, Henry Ford had his private secretary and closest aide, Ernest G. Liebold, purchase a newspaper named The Dearborn Independent. Liebold was the editor of the paper from 1920-1927.
Gawd, I didn't know he hated Jews. I just new he was successful at building American cars. One can still use his quotes for the greater good. I'll have to look into this hate-monger thing. I might have to sell my Fords. Oops! I all ready did. I dunno if I'll buy anymore Fords. Darn it, the Nazi's invented x-rays too... *sheesh*

OIL in N Dakota!!! Time to Keep it out of the private sector.
by sammielee24 ini guess they've found a whole whack of oil in n dakota, largest in the country - now what to do with it.
keep it out of the hands of the oil companies for sure and you have to wonder if it wouldn't be a wise decision by the state to sit back and evaluate it for it's worth.
if they keep it as state owned, they can use their own state bank to fund the development and then build their own refineries - sell the product to the other states and that could easily dissolve the imports from saudi arabia and the middle east.

Technology for horizontal oil drilling: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cEmadgNz9vI&feature=related
Horizontal Production Wells
The first of the North Slope's drilling innovations was the drilling and completion of horizontal production wells (snipped)
Coiled Tubing Units
The second innovation was the drilling and completing of wells with coiled-tubing units instead of drilling rigs (snipped)
Multilateral Wells
The third new technology was the multilateral well completion. Like a sidetrack, this involved a new well drilled off from another. (snipped)
Designer Wells
Another innovation is in designer wells. These are drilled with a high degree of precision to reach small oil targets, several small oil pockets or to reach through or around faults to isolated traps. (snipped)
Reduced Cost of New Oil
All of these new technniques have enabled oil and gas producers to develop new oil reserves on the North Slope for less than $2.50 a barrel.
By lowering the finding costs of new oil, North Slope producers have been able to compensate for other costs, such as transportation, that rise because overall production from the North Slope is falling.
It also has allowed more drilling to be done on the Slope since drilling and well completion is less expensive.
The Prudhoe Bay field alone will see about 100 new reservoir penetrations this year, about twice the number in 1985. Most are sidetracks and multilateral wells.
More Technology...
