  my son, who is quite intelligent and insightfull for his age, gave me a good laugh this evening.

  my mom's bugging me again about "considering going back to meetings".

  There are so many aspects to this.
  
  One that comes immediately to mind is the fact that by attempting to get you go back to the meetings, it helps the other person to alleviate their own misgivings about the so-called Truth.
  
  If it was really the Truth, and Jehovah called those who he wants, why all the guilt trips and foolishness?

  this has always been my opinion, even as a 'loyal' jw!

  i thought that elders were idiots.

  i have only ever known one who has ever had any real education, a solicitor and he was an arrogant twonk, the rest were a pathetic bunch of bullies who 'appeared' to be loving and kind but were infact out to find out the shit about everyone and cause as much trouble for everyone as possible.

  My last thought:
  
  I could understand if he was in good standing, and never had any real problems with the goings-on of the organization. But that is so far from the case. I already had realized he is clinging to it as his only normalcy, but I didn't imagine how drastically.
  
  Oh, yeah, he started college last semester and dropped out this semester when his wife left him. His half brother had a suicide attempt two months ago. More to add to the pot.

His court date is coming in about 3 weeks, where they will offer him a deal.
  
  Anyway, he is more into studying and praying now than ever before (see above!), and when I e-mailed him the case numbers to the sixteen (16) child abuse cases that were settled, he called it "apostate literature."
  
  Oh, my fucking God.
  
  He is in such denial.
  
  He has done a lot of court record/public record/investigative searching in the past three months (see above!), so it's not that he doesn't how to find the stuff, but it's what he knows he will find. Proof about the Truth about the truth.
  
  We aren't dealing with the high school educated janitor, either. He is an extremely skilled machinist, etc., with a borderline genius IQ.
  
  I told him he is in denial.
