  Anyone from UKIAH, CA???

  hey, .

  just checking if anyone in here is from ukiah.

  i'm still hopefull about getting to talk to someone i knew while in the "truth" who is now out-n-free... .

  Does this make any sense?

  okay, this is even confusing for me, so please try to bear with me.. i am working on a "presentation" to give to a jw family member to defend myself when the fade comes up.

  i want it to be something that will make them think and this is what i have come up with.. this person believes in the whole 1914 chronology bible prophecy crap and can't believe this isn't the truth when they are so right about the date.

  but i see a flaw with the way it was calculated and i need input to tell me whether i'm cracked or this might really work- get him to think.. according to the wts, "in prophecy, a year averages 360 days, or 12 months of 30 days each... so the kings "seven times," or seven years, were 360 days multiplied by 7, or 2,520 days.

  Don't get the phone... it's Satan!

  my mom always warned her new studies that satan would take notice right away that they were studying the truth.

  she would give examples, so they would recognize the devil's activities for what they were.

  sure enough, the phone rang during a study just as mom asked the lady to read a scripture.

  I thought I saw in another thread that you said you didn't want to get Ray Franz's book. Too bad since he goes into this rather in depth. Apparently, Russell swiped the 1914 idea from some 18th(or so) century monk and ran with it, however, it was all based on faulty dates. Because of WW1 and the spanish flu and all, they desperately need to hold onto the 1914 date. R. Franz said that while writing the Aid book, he basically just had to say, "all secular historians are wrong."

  ok, so i had to go to the meeting last sunday and i was bored out of my mind, but i put this together while i was there and it is based on the latest figures for 2005, i though some here would find it interesting.. .

  in the 2006 year book the following figures are reported: (note these are for 2005).

  branches of jw's: 112. number of lands reporting: 235. total congregations: 98,268. world wide memorial attendance: 16,383,333. memorial partakers worldwide: 8,524. avg.

  Obviously this is a sign of Satan's increasing pressure that he is puting on Jehovah's one true organization. If only Jehovah was strong enough to fight Satan.

  I remember stuff like that. Which just made me remember a story of how someone went to a door and it was a some palm reader or something. She was absolutely furious at the witnesses because the demons told her that they were too busy to do any parlor tricks anymore for her because "the time of the end was here" and the demons needed to do whatever was needed to break up witness families.

  I heard this over 20 years ago when I was about 16 or so. It's really incredible that this was fairly "normal" and unquestioned everyday event.

  Did the elders contact you 1 year after being DF'd?

  elders are supposed to meet everyone once a year, either df'd ones or inactive, just to try to bring them back.. in my case, they usually try right before the memorial.

  how about you?.

  The elders know where I am but I think they are afraid to come into my demon infested store. All these Dungeons & Dragons game books work wonders as a JW repellant.

  How to reply to the inevitable invitation to Memorial this year...

  i'm anticipating a series of visitis from the witnesses to invite me to memorial.

  every year i get a few with the preprinted invitation, a couple slightly old magazines, and big smiles.

  these are people who i grew up with, who were kind to me, who honestly think my fade out will cost my eternal soul at the big a. these are the same people who pick up my elderly parents for meetings, bring them food when they are sick, and change their rusted out water heater for them in the dead of winter.

  I've found that if you are non-committal means that they will be back. I went to the memorial about 5 years ago and was freaked out by all the goofy ritual. I now tell them that.
