You and YK should be able to discuss this idea at length. He, too, is convinced that there is some "Apostate community," or as he puts it "movement" afoot, and it is an organized group bent on the destruction of the WBTS. What you fail to realize is that those who leave the organization take many different paths, and there is no reason to think that all ex-witnesses get along with all other ex-witnesses based soley on their past experiences.

Parasites
by philo ini have just listened to a radio programme on the bbc about parasites, which it made my flesh crawl.. imagine a parasite that invades an ant, but which does more than feed from its bodily nutrients, it interferes the ants nervous system.
it does this to cripple the ant.
it must infect a bigger animal, a grazing herbivore, and for this, it must disable its host above ground during the warmth of the day.

Stones - or should I say, the lack of them.
by ChuckD inever notice how the folks who are the most prone to lob an insult or accusation over the fence are also those who hide behind a closely guarded psudonym while online?
and, the majority of their barbs are aimed at those of us who are comfortable enough to be here as ourselves, using our real names.
i know that there are many folks who use psudonyms to protect their identity from those within the organization whould would rat them out to the brooklyn feds, but many others just like to hide behind a facade and shoot their slings and arrows from far offstage.

Friday, do you think that all of the information presented in the Babylon book is still true today?

And ever since Jacob reported this, almost every insurance policy you can buy specifically excludes Acts of God from their coverage.

I agree, and the title of this thread was directed only at those in the latter category. I know that I would probably be here under a false ID if I had a need to maintain my privacy, and I am very thankful that I no longer need to do so. But I would like to beleive that, even if I did need to keep my true identity hidden, I would not use that anonymity simply to hurl insults and condemnation on others, as we have seen happen more than once on this board.

I can still remember one wedding I attended back in the '70's where we were all having a great time and dancing, only to have the self-appointes "master of the feast" declare that the music was inappropriate and shut it off mid-song. What a dick.

Interesting thought from Friday. From what I see, the reasoning goes something line this;
- Jesus was disliked
- I am disliked
- Therefore, I am like Jesus... and Mark, before you get too worked up, I think you may want to re-read this thread. Your request that I don't give you a "watchtower ring around the rosarie" leads me to believe that you may think I am on the watchtower's side in all this. Beleive me, nothing could be further from the truth.

to make it easier for the out of towners (especially the ones driving in from the us), how does everyone feel about having our next get together on a saturday...say saturday, august 18th, starting at 4pm?
(i'll be working on the 11th and the 25th...).

I would be coming from Providence, RI, and would either fly to Buffalo or to Detroit and drive, or perhaps I could get a cheap flight to Toronto itself. I will check out the options.

If one were coming from a major city in the states, would Buffalo be the most sensible place to drive from?

I could consider a trip up there as well. How big of a crowd are you expecting?
