  Most of my extended family have no idea my wife is a jw.

  you non-jws who have jw mates or anyone interested in responding.

  do you or would you tell extended family that your spouse is a jw.

  i ask because i have a couple of other relatives who are jws who pulled away from the family the years ago that caused some hurt to family that use to be close to them.

  I told my family that my son is marrying a Mormon and she is

  white, please be respectful of her belief. My son love her and

  Observations from a day at the zoo

  so we went to calgary zoo today and i'm torn between zoo's being great for conservation vs using animals to make money.

  i think on the whole they are a good thing but it's sad to see some of the animals caged up - somehow i always end up staring into the eyes of a gorilla and it makes me sad.. but that isn't what struck me ... it's these things:.

  what specifically made you stop believing in god and the bible?

  was it a steady road of doubts or it was reading one book or one major event that made you realize the bible was not what it's claimed to be?.

  1980,Iran and Iraq war. What's with all the conflicts in the

  Holy land....What are they fighting about..Can not recall the book,

  the history of Israel and when they became a state in 1947...

  The wars between islam, Christianity and Judaism, I knew nothing

  about other major religions, only JW world and their imaginary persecution...

  The frustration of talking to a person with a closed mind

  okay, this is going to be a bit of a general rant.

  i had a long conversation with a jw elder recently about shunning and evolution.

  i became qunite frustrated with the conversation and admitted this at the time.

  The cult mind, Oooh boy. We all can relate.It's magical, someone

  can show where rainbows come from, in fact you can make one in

  your backyard but your cult mind will tell you, the first

  rainbow was created for Noah, a sign from God. The cult

  mind will tell you eating blood is the same as a transfusion..

  How do JW's know if their ministry is successful?

  open someone eyes about the borg, make sense???

  In other words you carry little weight, your credibility is shot

  but should it stop you from trying???

  Curious to know, when I say gross sin (adultery would be the only one)

  and ones who have walked, who have been more successful in

  aiding others out. An hypocrite is hard to live down..

  My eyes were open by a brother (elder) that commited adultery..
