Growing up a Gay JW
by ScoobySnax inthat for me was just about the hardest thing to deal with growing up.
my mum was a witness, my dad never was.
many times my mum would struggle to get my sister and me on a bus to get to the kh when we were little kids, despite suffering from nerves herself, without dads help.

Ello North Girl, welcome to the board, I'll do my level headed best to answer you briefly though I'm sure others will elaborate, my names Mark btw, how do you do?
Of specific dress code, men are encouraged to wear suits and by their dress code not try to draw attention to themselves, this would be seen as drawing glory to themselves rather than bringing glory to Jehovah. Women are to dress modestly, no skirts above the kneww and to cover up other bodily areas so as not to 'stumble' others. A head covering is to be worn in the presence of unbaptised brothers or when no brother baptised is present to lead for example, a field ministry arrangement.
Yes only men can rise to positions of authority in the congregation, women, or sisters are encouraged to become either auxiliary or regular pioneers only.
Young marriages I wouldn't say are exactly encouraged though courtships often begin at a rather young age. (The fear of committing fornication maybe)
Association with non witnesses must be kept to an absolute minimum, in the work place one can obviously associate to a certain level with non believers, but beyond that, no.
After school activities are all discouraged.
Women discouraged from working, aye I would say that is an accurate assessment of the facts.
Anyone yes can attend a convention.
Kindest regards and all best wishes, good to see you here taking an interest.
Mark
