Go ahead. Read the article. But you must and I mean must make sure you have a barf bag. If you read through that article you can see that they embellish for sure and probably outright fabricate/lie. One Haitian customs official commented: why did that happen, they are hated by the world are they not. And yet here we have a supposed worldly guy patting them on the back, yea right!!

Were you ever embarrassed or somewhat ashamed when the WT patted themselves on the back in their own articles?
by miseryloveselders ini was browsing through the december 2010 awake, and noticed an article on the earthquake that happened in haiti earlier this year.
it didn't take long for the article to disturb me.
the third paragraph initiated the sanctimonious tone that is present througout the article.

A "Funny" Thing Happened On the Road to Damascus...
by AGuest into the household of god, israel, and those who go with... may you all have peace!
as you may or may not be aware, i recently posted a thread regarding the relevancy of the name of our lord.
in that thread, and one or two others, i mentioned the language of our lord... and thus, the accurate rendering of that name.

to tec - I think what I was taking issue with was the way the "society" or whatever label we use tries to manipulate the very bible itself with their watchtower magazine and in the process create confusion more so than clarification.

Sometimes I might want some things, but if they are against God's will... then I don't want Him to grant me them. His will comes first (in reality) as well as for me, over my own will.
Doesn't this preclude sinning. It was the point the watchtower article seemed to infer for my thinking.

9 As a perfect human, Jesus could have concluded that he, like Adam, had the potential for fathering a perfect race. However, Jesus never desired such a future because it was not Jehovah's will for him. God had sent Jesus to the earth to fulfill the role of the promised Seed, orMessiah. This included Jesus' sacrificing his perfect human life. (Read Isaiah 53:5, 6, 12.)
Hey AGuest or watersprout. What do you think of this from the august watchtower. My question would be that if what they are saying here makes sense, would it not follow that Jesus would be free of any desire that was not within Jehovah's will for him. Surely Jehovah's will for me does not include sinning against him. So why do I?

May have, must have, found it deeply satisfying (we know this how), notice the "preaching the good news" expression that they devised. And if the last statement is accurate and carries any weight, wouldn't that mean that Jesus would not desire anything that Jehovah did not will for him, and thereby have an unfair advantage.

"We're not here to debate or argue"
by sabastious inas a jw i was always taught "never to get into debate or argue with householders.".

the message i had when i went to your door was essentially "hello, what ever your current belief is... is wrong.

Or without directly saying it "to judge you" but as the last "brother" said to me after a call that had his partner "an elder" admitting that he didn't get the new generation and able to offer only the "but who will we go away to" and "but you (me) can't deny the time we live in as proof that it is the truth was still able to say "well I can assure you I won't be calling on you again". That was the longest run-on sentence I have typed, but the point I was making is that he out and out judged me.

Talked to hubby about Jesus being the Mediator for only 144,000 he said it made total sense
by life is to short inok so my husband and i sat down and i told him that i never totally got it that we as jehovah's witnesses believe that jesus died only for the 144,000. i showed him 1 tim 2:5, john 6:40, john 20:31, gal 1:4, gal 2:20 where it clearly says he died for everyone.
he said jesus died because we need a new covenant and he gave me jeremiah 31:31 then he went to heb 8:6-9 where we need a new covenant and the ended at luke 22:28 where jesus is talking to his disciples and they were part of the 144,000 so clearly jesus was meaning the new covenant was intended for the 144,000. jesus did give is life clearly for all of us as long as we are in contact with his chosen 144,000. if we ever stop believing in the anointed we are toast.
now my husband has been in the "truth" since 1972 and was an elder for 32 years.

14 THE WATCHTOWER ? AUGUST 15, 2010
Jesus thus had the potential for fathering a perfect human race. Instead, however, he allowed
God's enemies to put him to death so that he could adopt Adam's sinful descendants
and make it possible for those exercising faith in him to receive everlasting life.
The Scriptures explain: "There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, a
man, Christ Jesus, who gave himself a corresponding ransomfor all."-1 Tim. 2:5, 6.
notice they dropped the "[not, all men]"
