given current statistics with regards to attrition in the jw ranks, it becomes appearant that we are seeing the unfolding of the early 20th century with regards to the teachings of the jw's late 19th century.

with fewer and fewer old timers hanging on, and the influx of young or newbies, it is becoming quite clear that these newcomers ~5 maybe even ten years in... have no clue about the foundations of 1914, 1919 inspection, etc or the failed attempts of end of days, ie 1975, etc.

It'll happen. When the vintage physical publications become rare as hen's teeth, the sheep will only have the CD-ROM to feed off of. JW kids will be even more lazy and won't want to dig that deep for the real truth. Pretty soon, the JW website will be the portal to the internet for ALL of their followers; think "watchtower.google.com". Cleaned up and safe from the apostate thinking, the portal will only allow good wholesome information. Remember that Yellow pages catchline? "Let your elders do the thinking".

This is exactly correct. Think about it for a second, we are in the digital age, hell kids don't even read books anymore, as most adults. Eventhough the WBTS does NOT want you to learn the ways of the information super highway, they are in fact hoping most rely on this, ie CDs, and other electronic formats for their works. The new publications will be changed not to reflect the old "ways" - its a win win for the GB...

The WBTS is purposely dumping anything pre-1990's / 2000 to their benefit. They want ignorance. Funny thing is within the next ten years, no one will know anything about the JW's through the 19th and 20th century except for what the GB want them to know. Its actually quite genius...

What is so fucking stupid about that title is that most people try to live life compfortably, etc. Yea bad shit happens, and some don't have the best luck, but isn't "LIVING", living a life with meaning??? It is almost like they believe 99.9% of the populace is PISSING their life away. This could not be further from the truth. A day fishing, hiking, seeing some art, etc. although local ADD MEANING TO ONES LIFE!!!! You don't have to travel the world or be wealthy!!! Life is what YOU make of it!!!!

i recently informed my wife of 25 years (the love of my life) that i just cannot go on any longer with this facade.

What really helped me to get my wife out, was a gradual fade. We changed KH where we did not know anyone, and I just did not go anymore. She did not want to attend a meeting where she did not know anyone. What might also help you, is can you find a work mate, or "wordly" friend that is married, girlfriend, etc. wherein you could confide to them what is going on and ask for their help? Tell your wife that you were invited to go out to eat this Saturday for instance, and that you are both invited. Tell your friend how JW's operate, what is expected, etc. so as not to offend your wife on the first "date" - make it ENJOYABLE where your wife walks away saying wow, worldy people are not all that bad... Keep doing this and slowly pull her away. Have your friends wife invite her places where they can have fun, call her up, etc. to make your wife feel wanted and needed.

Eventually, when invites are being asked on meeting days, chances are your wife will make the exception and miss the meeting. This is what helped me to get her out.

I would reiterate to your wife that you going to meetings has NOTHING to do with your marriage!! In fact, if you decide to stay home one night, do something SPECIAL for your wife that you know she enjoys, and suprise her when she walks in the door. This will reaffirm that you do love her, strange I know, but women dig this shit.

You have made your voice known, and I would stick to it but do it slowly. Maybe skip one meeting a week for a month or two and then start skipping the other one. Is your wife the kind of person that will not go if you don't? Mine was. Finding her friends outside and doing things she loved to do eventually pulled her away. Good luck!!

if the hebrew word rendered "day" has multiple meanings, why was the most accurate translation of the word not used?

why doesn't it say "eons" in the nwt?

if god really meant to say "eons," why didn't he make sure it said "eons" instead of days.

^^^ Rad... I believe that is incorrect. You simply cannot take the words of Paul (a day for a year) and meld them with the creation story. The creation story needs to and should stand on it OWN, without the need for further "explanation"...

JW at My Door Admits That Shes Had Doubts

i acknowledged that i knew what it was about, and had asked her why they dont accept the wine and bread.

we had a discussion about that, with me stating that the bible only gives a heavenly hope, not an earthly one.

New Light @ The 2011 District Convention

" at the bottom of the image on the back of the invitation raises some eyebrows, but last night in the routine district convention article during the service meeting, i caught that one of the paragraphs mentioned that we would be encouraged to keep a copy of the tract in hand for a discussion during sunday's last talk.

my guess is, there is going to be some new revelation about what the "?

" represents, or some other fangled idea.

Kingdom Hall Funeral for a suicide, non baptised JW bible study?

i recieved the news today that an aquantance who was studying and attending meetings committed suicide today.

he leaves behind a terminaly ill wife and teenage children.. my best mate (non jw) who employs this man from time to time and was very fond of him is in total shock.. he would like to know what possible funeral he may have and if he himself would be welcome to attend as a non jw.. i have passed on the gist of what i found in the cd lib but would like to know any real world situations and how they have been handled by local jw's.. oz.

One was done locally here in a similar fashion, unbaptised, suicide. Elders performed it at the local KH...
