Hmmmmm....sin.lol
and persecution....
And I just had to put these two...just for the heck of it...lol
one of my favorite things to do with any wt publication, is to look for the "sin" pictures.
they are always pretty funny, cartoony, and classic propaganda.
the knowledge book had some but it seemed to be toned down from the standard study book that preceded it (i can't remember the name).

Beware the temptations of 80's girls and cans of beer...

So here are a few nifty pictures.lol

Okay, here's a try...

LOL!
I could easily scan many of them, but I haven't a clue how to post them here...
I love those pictures, I love when they try to depict demonised crystal-ball ladies, looking like traditionnal gyspies, black bushy hair, long red nails and all, they all look like Jezabel minus the punch-red hair, and with a crazed look in their eyes.lol
how many times have jw depictions of paradise shown cozy little gabled, shingled, lapsided, wood frame houses tastefully situated in front of mountain lakes without a hint of technology?
i've lost count.
i've always thought this picture betrays an unbelievable naivete about how technology works.
Just imagine the person at the door being handed a pamphlet with illustrations of wooden shacks, a big open fire to roast the veggies on the front lawn and people around, some naked, some with wathever clothes they could come up with without machinery, corpses here and there with a few smilling survivor stugging them away, while singing kingdom songs.lol "Hello miss, would you like to live in a place like that for eternity?" *door slams*
I know my dad made me learn it when I was young....lol..don't remember it now. The demunz must have drove it out of my evil'postate mind.
i thought of this question as i've been talking to different family members about the situation with my parents and grandmother.
i wondered if they'd get upset by me telling other non-jw family members what was going on.
i recently told a family member in coventry who i'm sure will end up telling my grandmother's sisters.
My father is the only JW in the family and we often visit his side of the family all together. The day I get DFed, you can beleive the WORLD will know if he decides to not speak to me anymore. It will not only spread the thruth about what they do to families, but all of them, aunts, uncles, grandmas, etc, will be even more against the cult and will let dad know of crazy an idea it is.
we had a visiting speaker come to our hall yesterday.
he was a missionary from liberia (whoopie) but he was talking about the danger he faces everyday just to go our in field service from rebels, gangs, the military.
he lived in a hut with no electricity, no running water.
Reminds me of the times they would describe all these horrible dangers and persecutions JWs in those country went trough and still kept strong. To then make the point that they were intently praying for us JWs over here to keep our faith in the face of temptation, material and otherwise... I had a hard time not to cringe.
i remember there was one that used to go to my hall.
he would say hi to my dad and my dad would ignore him.
i know now that my father feels bad for that, but at the same time he had no choice.
Hihi, this is very entertaining.:P
No, Jesus probably wouldn't have picketed against anything...but he did came right into the temple and to trash the merchants out. Should we do that also?
I vaguely remember some picketers...but I was too young to know what they were about. I do remember that one man who ran across the stadium, buck naked while the program was going on. Hilarious!lol I think he was caught before he made it to the other side, though. He probably went to prison or something.lol Poor guy.
