Liberty,
Hey, man, don't beat around the bush, tell us what you really think!
Just kiddin', I actually agree 100%!

RR,
I agree that their "trust in Jehovah" model of self defense is retarded, and I never believed it even while a loyal dub.
Now, I regularly carry a small KelTec .380, with star hollowpoint rounds and an extra clip, its so small it fits in my back pocket. In the almost two years I've carried it (everywhere, by the way) no one has ever found it, even when being patted down to enter special places. Its the psychology of it, no one thinks about a gun in your back pocket, so they never pat me down on the butt, but just hit the small of my back.
I started carrying when I was Project Manager of a renovation project where we were gutting and remodeling every unit in a huge HUD/Section 8 housing complex. It had gotten around to some of the tenants (not your average upstanding folks, by the way) that I brought the paychecks, and carried lots of cash to pay employees. While this was not true, it was the word going around, and since I regularly stayed past dark to inspect units (alone usually), I didn't want to find myself in the back of a half-renovated apartment, with only my flashlight, and half a dozen home boys corner me to "borrow" my cash.
And as far as the children go (I have two boys, 10 and 12), I have taken them to the range and trained them in the proper and safe use of firearms, so we don't have a problem with a gun being around the house.

just when you thought the ipod was pretty cool, we may soon have devices using one-molecule-wide transistors.
researchers at the national institute for nanotechnology have demonstrated the ability to switch the charge on a single molecule to impede or allow current flow in surrounding molecules.
flipping the gate requires one electron, as opposed to the one million required in current technology.
So, if technology shrinks in size by a factor of one million, how will we press the keys on our blackberrys?
LOL!!
This is actually awesome news, we are rapidly approaching the limits of processing speeds with the current silicon wafer based transistors. I know it will take several years to get technology like this on the shelf at Circut City, but transitor switching at the molecular level will mean a quantum jump in processor speeds.
Yeah, so I'm a techno geek too!!

OK everyone,
here's the first test. A slightly revised version of the Press Release just went out to the following media outlets in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area:
WFAA Channel 8 News
KXAS Channel 5 News
CBS Channel 11
The Dallas Morning News newspaper
the Star-Telegram newspaper
Here's the revised Press Release, as distributed:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE PRESS RELEASE
Wednesday, June 1, 2005
JEHOVAH’S WITNESSES DESCEND ON
THOUSANDS OF DEVOUT JEHOVAH’S WITNESSES FROM THE SURROUNDING AREA WILL BE MEETING AT THE FORT WORTH CONVENTION CENTER THIS WEEKEND.
, - For this one weekend, area Jehovah’s Witnesses will suspend the door to door proselytizing for which they are so well known, in order to meet together for a three day program of instruction prepared by the world headquarters of Jehovah’s Witnesses in . This gathering is only one of two hundred twenty-seven (227) such conventions to be held this summer in the , with dozens more in countries around the world.
Few in the community at large know much about the beliefs and activities of Jehovah’s Witnesses, in spite of their well known evangelical activities to distribute the numerous books, magazines, pamphlets, and tracts they produce by the millions. Once informed of their beliefs, many view them as a high control group (sometimes referred to as a cult).
Their ranks have grown rapidly in the last few decades, in spite of the documentation of their failed prophecies, constantly changing Bible chronology, flip-flopping doctrinal changes, bizarre medical advice, and dogmatic teachings that many consider physically and emotionally harmful.
For further information on their beliefs and activities, please review the information provided by the following sources:
www.silentlambs.org A non-profit group dedicated to publicizing the widespread problem of child molestation within the Jehovah’s Witnesses religion, and their organizational procedures that, in effect, protect some molesters at the cost of the well being and protection of the victims. They are also dedicated to the wider societal issues regarding child molestation, including awareness programs, counseling and recovery for the victims.
quotes.watchtower.ca In a spirit of scholarship, research, and fairness this web site accurately documents the wide range of bizarre, and sometimes harmful, beliefs and doctrines of Jehovah’s Witnesses, by publishing nothing but direct quotes from their own publications, organized by topic.
www.freeminds.org A wealth of information on all aspects of the beliefs and activities of Jehovah’s Witnesses. PAY SPECIAL ATTENTION TO THE SCANDAL INVOLVING THE REGISTRATION OF JEHOVAH’S WITNESSES WITH THE UNITED NATIONS, AND WHY THEIR ASSOCIATION WITH THE UN IS AN EMBARASSING SCANDAL FOR THE RELIGION.
www.freedomofmind.com Web site of Steve Alan Hassan, cult counselor and mind control expert, renowned Nationally Certified Counselor and licensed Mental Health Counselor. He has identified and documented the common methods used by high control groups (cults) to recruit, indoctrinate, and control their members.
www.watchtowerinformationservice.org Another well organized documentation of all issues related to the Jehovah’s Witnesses community.

Confession,
You may have a valid point about the second line, and toning it down a bit. I'll think about rewording it some. Like I mentioned in the outset, this is a first draft of the Press Release.
Thanks for your input!

Hi love2Bworldly,
Sure you can participate. Look at the following thread:
http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/91689/1.ashx
blondie has posted the convention schedule.
If you want to help, PM me with your email and I'll send you the Word document of the PR. You can edit it to include the correct date, convention location, etc. Send it to TV and newspaper outlets in the area around the convention you want to target. Let me know which ones you will target, so I can keep up with a list of which one's we've targeted and which are left.
Thanks!!!!!!!
Brandon
