Excellent site, Leolaia. Under its purpose explanation, "This site is maintained by one of Jehovah's Witnesses who fully supports the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society." And your point, full text copying would violate, I believe, copy write restrictions. I think most publications must be earlier than 1924 for entry into public domain.
However, if Blondie is correct (and she usually is), this site may have fallen through the cracks as far as Society is concerned.

JW sites with Watchtower quotations?
by Fatfreek inwe all know that our friend quotes is under attack from the wt -- for doing just that, quoting their literature.
are there any jw sites (jw members in good standing) that provide wt quotations of any kind?
if so, why are these "copy write" infringers being ignored by wt?.

"Quotes" website owner-Radio Interview on the Net-Sept. 24, '05
by sf inhttp://www.drewmarshall.ca/listen.html [ open link to select player best suited for your computer ].
having grown up in a jehovah's witness family, { quotes } came to the realization that what he was being raised to believe, wasn't standing up to scrutiny.
subsequently, he put together a fantastic website, simply showing primary resource material (stuff jw's say about themselves and their beliefs) then simply highlighted various points of interest... things to make you say "hmmm!

Quotes, I want you to know one thing that impressed me. It was your use of the expression "full disclosure". If memory serves, that is one of the things that got you fired up, discovering by yourself (in some book) some embarrasing teaching that you weren't told about before you were baptized. How many of us were actually told about the pyramidology teaching before baptism? Raise your hands -- Hmmm ... I thought so. How many of us would be here, right now, if there had been something like Full Disclosure prior to baptism? Frankly, I doubt there'd be enough dropouts to support such.
I, for one, can't tell you how many times my teenage friends would hit me with, "my folks say the Witnesses don't believe in doctors". It wasn't till recently that I found (thanks to your Quotes site) their extreme hatred of the medical profession extended through the 1930's and possibly into the 1940's. All I was told by the servants (the pre-elder days) was "... your classmates are badly misinformed. We only reject blood transfusions". They should have said, "Yes, a few years back that is what we taught, but things are different now."
Again, the lack of "full disclosure".
I'm so very proud of you.

Leolaia, what a great series of quotes. Thanks. Instead of a flip flop I would call it flip flop flip flop. I suspect no JW with a modicum of reasoning could resist pausing on those.

The following link is an mp3 file (audio) of a snippet of Fred talking about 1975 when in Australia. You'll hear more "aaahh's" than an MD with a tongue depressor. Warning -- for those on dialup it takes awhile, it's nearly 1mb in size.
By the way, the audio file is available in its entirety on our friend Quotes web site. The GB would love to silence this one.

It took effect this spring with the release of the updated Organized book
Thanks, Blondie.
It would be interesting to see some baptized witness who joins the military, then immediately pre-empts the elders with a formal letter to them -- verbiage something like this:
"You’ve heard by now that I’ve joined the military but if not, I wanted you to hear it firsthand from me. I am not, by that act, disassociating myself. Please be advised that I wish to continue my status as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses although I no longer subscribe to their stance, re defense of this great country of ours.
As you must surely realize any forthcoming announcement that I am no longer one of Jehovah’s Witnesses will be completely on your shoulders -- not mine. It would be your wish and not mine.
It could provide evidence to our government’s officials that you are cutting me off from spiritual fellowship to brothers and sisters that I love because of this decision of mine to join the military. They may look unkindly to any group that attempts to penalize me for such a patriotic act."
Dream on, Fats.

...announcement "SoandSo is no longer one of Jehovah's Witnesses"
Hmmm .... I've only seen references to this type of statement a few times, Blondie. When did this take affect? It appears, to this legal dummy, as a further leaning away from legal vulnerability. I could be wrong.

So sorry about your brother, Bikerchic.
With reference to the disfellowshipping vs. disassociating issue (yes, it is an issue). When I attended a two week school for elders in the early 70's that issue was a big negative for me. It, more than anything revealed the politics of the Society, their fear of the governments as they taught the peons, "Have no fear of man".
I recall asking the question, "Why the two different announcements? I mean, when a person joins the military is he not flaunting the Society and its teachings?"
I recall the uneasy squirming and hedging of the instructor. No, I can't quote exactly the words of some instructor from some 30 years ago but I recall this, "Brothers, we are engaged in Theocratic warfare. We've had to create tactics to put ourselves on equal footing with the enemy. This is a wartime strategy. If we were to explicitly announce the cutting away from our association a soldier of this country, we would make ourselves vulnerable to charges from this government's leaders. The Watchtower could be shut down. It may have to operate "underground". By announcing that a person has disassociated himself, in effect, we are telling outsiders that he has left the organization of his own volition. We are distancing ourselves by claiming the separating act was his and not ours. The bottom line -- we are keeping the organization clean and we are less vulnerable to a potentially calamitous charge of sedition."
"Doesn't this send the message that we are cowards and actually have the fear of man that we teach against?", I countered. That question of mine fell on deaf ears.
