Thanks to all for contributing to a learning thread for me. Those graphic pastes are great, the lists available on CD as well. I vaguely remember JW in the Divine Purpose book recounting some of it but that was 45 years ago and over time it becomes a blurr. This certainly freshened it up for me.
Again, what legal recourse could/would the society take if placards and loudspeakers appeared at their doorsteps? Or, should I ask, how close to their doorsteps would be considered acceptable?

2. What could the KH do if a group got on their steps, placards and loudspeakers, and announced a similar slogan, like "The Watchtower is a snare and a racket"?
as a jw were you really willing to make sacrifices, great and small, for the "truth" or did you feel deep down that it wasn't worth it?
when did you decidedly say no to being self denying for the sake of the wts?

Their 2004 report says there are 1,019,696 "peak witnesses" in the U.S. They may be basing their statement on that report. That report is found here:
when mom and dad and i adopted watchtower teachings during the mid 50's, the most influential couple we knew were special pioneers by the names of raymond and doris bridgman.
they were truly fine people in many senses, a bit younger than my folks, and very charismatic.

Ah, yes, the Children book. I recall in the early 60's a brother around 60 just getting married. Before that private event, he was inspired by that book to wait till after Armageddon and was always proud to tell the story of attending the major assembly which released it -- Ohio somewhere? There was talk that he was bitter about something, I wonder what it was? Never saw much of Bob and Mary after that.
i have had a few experiences which some could be dealt with rationally although even to this day the coincidences seem too convenient; .
mine was on new years day in 1994; i didnt celebrate new years at the same although i was about to start my fade that year; i was ill on new years eve anyway and i had been sleeping when i awoke at precisely 12.13. i couldnt get back to sleep but there was no obvious reason why.. my grandmother was in hospital but she was getting better when i had last spoken to her; i managed to back off to sleep but woke that following morning for some reason really concerned about my gran; just as i was coming downstairs the phone rang and my girlfriend answered it.
i said to her before she got to the phone that it would be my mother with bad news about my gran; i was right on both counts; it was my mum and my gran had died.....at 12.13 precisely..
Some years ago my kids and I were ready to leave the Houston public library, a large building near the center of the downtown area. We were all clustered at the top floor escalator and one by one stepped aboard. I was always pulling stupid pranks and decided to play like some powerful force, pointing my finger and commanding the escalator, "Stop this minute, you escalator". Within 5 seconds the escalator slowed to a halt and we all looked at each other, never uttering a word. We quietly walked down those steps to the next floor and decided to take the stairs for the remaining floors to the lobby.
I have no idea what took place there and on that day. I have, however, since tried to make that same thing happen with the stock market at certain downward trends and am convinced I've lost my touch.

My husband has done extensive research with older WTS publications and has read to me many of the horrific statements Rutherford said in these publications. Old man Rutherford could really lash out with a wicked tongue of condemnation, if only the R & F today could read this stuff I'm sure many would not be so willing to be part of the B'org. Course we know thats exactly why they keep this from the JW's today.
