  i always sit in the same spot, just outside starbucks in a vestibule area with a table in the air-conditioned space.

  i say "always," but not today.. somebody with two laptops and a table filled with business ledgers was in "my" favorite spot!.

  so, i took a tiny wooden table inside the coffee shop on a long padded bench next to 3 other identical tables.. as the clickbait banner ads like to say: "and what happened next was simply unbelievable!".

  in joe134cd's recent thread, he mentioned the myth that apparently one should be able to fade or become inactive without repercussions from the community.

  he mentioned about the 'dropping-you-like-a-hot-potato' phenomenon from social media sites, even when you've not told anybody why you're not coming any more.. i propose that it may be good to record such a phenomenon when it occurs so that this lie can be readily rebuffed.

  i'm not out yet, but when i do, i shall be only to willing to record the response on social media sites.

  Recording the bad behavior of jw's is always a good thing! Will it make any difference to a jw? no, naturally they will not look at it nor believe it.

  What is does do- helps keep people from joining in the first place! When non jw's who may have the slightest interest Google jw's and find all this negative information about the jw's they quickly dismiss this org as an option in their own personal spiritual quest.

  It gives credence to those of us who try tell others about the jw's when we are not/never been one ourselves. People often do not believe the stories we can tell from the boards, personal emails, books, etc.... when we can say, 'don't believe me look it up yourself' and there is a glut of negative pr from actual former members it gives much more weight to what we may have said.

  My thanks again to all ex jw's who have told their story here, elsewhere and had the courage to go public or to the courts with their stories.

  Need Help! JW Grandmother (may be) Going to Court for Visitation

  i am hoping someone may be able to give me some guidance on behalf of my son.

  my ex-wife, who remains a jw, is threatening to go to court to get visitation with our 5 year old grandchild.

  she had regular visits with our grandchild, but when my son (no longer a jw) and his wife (never a jw) found out that his mother was teaching their daughter the jw religion without their permission and even telling our grandchild not to tell their parents... well to say the least, that was a game-changer.

  i'm sitting here drinking my morning coffee and opened up the yahoo page to see jw's trending at #10. clicked on it and the first article is about the child abuse.. did something happen lately that would get so many people doing a massive search?.

  Breaking news: US mass shooting

  it's getting to the point where cnn should start announcing "breaking news" if there *hasn't* been a mass shooting !.

  it's crazy.. i was watching the 70's documentary they are running and that's the point when media hype about mass serial killers seemed to begin the danger-gun-solution hype cycle.

  sure, people had guns before then but nowhere near like it is now.. when will it end?
