*Grace* According to JW's. Your thoughts will be appreciated.
by Lily Pie inhi, i'm a bit of a lurker on this site occasionally, just to help me understand my jw relative.
i am so curious to ask this question, but i fear asking a practicing jw, because you know, they can be a tad evasive, and maybe defensive too.

Understanding Revelation (According to the JWs)
by brotherdan indebator (or any other current jw on the board),.
will you please explain to me the understanding of how the 7 trumpet blasts in revelation were fulfilled?
has it already happened?

I agree. My wife tries to say (as most JWs would) multiple fulfillments...which is not a very logical answer to give.

The NWT words it like this: 10 By inspiration I came to be in the Lord’s day, and I heard behind me a strong voice like that of a trumpet, PSac, the JW would say God inspired John to see events of the Lord's day...which (according to them) is 1914...showing him events of the end times, which (according to them) began in 1914.

PSac, your understanding can not be correct! If it was it would mean the whole Bible, I mean the whole WT theology is wrong.

A JW will quote James 2:20 and say "faith without works is dead." My question is to whom is faith without works dead??
What does the next verse say?
20 You foolish man, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless d ? 21 Was not our ancestor Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar?
Who was he considered righteous to?
Romans 4
1What then shall we say that Abraham, our forefather, discovered in this matter? 2 If, in fact, Abraham was justified by works, he had something to boast about—but not before God. 3 What does the Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness." [
Abrhama was justifed before God by his faith, as Romas 4 and James 2:23 says. He was justified before man by his works. God reads the heart and can see faith apart from the works, while man can not.

..Are you Ready for a McWedding?...
by OUTLAW injust when you thought the world couldn`t get any tackier... .
the mcdonald's wedding packageby john farrier in business on oct 14, 2010 at 2:24 pmafter a couple met, dated, and then hosted their wedding party at a mcdonalds location in hong kong, the company began offering wedding packages in that city:.
the package has all the details to attract a wedding banquet cynic or a golden arches obsessive: a baked apple pie wedding cake, dress made out of party balloons, kiddie party favors for guests, and of course, catering by mcdonalds.. alcohol is banned to make sure there wont be drunk party guests acting inappropriately at the family venue, so newly weds will have to toast their union with soft drinks instead.. the cost will be a few thousand hong kong dollars, depending on what guests order on the spot.

A JW would try to weasel out of that one and say 'only Jehovah can read the heart'...then get off onto the trinity...LOL
They won't get the point about the criminal. Reniaa/Debator evaded the point on that and tried to make a point of heavenly/earthly destination. Throwing that issue aside, the guarantee was there.

DD, that is how the org (and other religions too in many cases) keep you dependent on them for salvation. In dubland, for instance, John 3:16 says receives everlasting life by 'taking in knowledge' of Jesus instead of knowing the person. Big difference there- as one could go onto wikipedia and learn all the facts about Derek Jeter, but if they went up to him in the street he would not know them. How do you 'take in knowledge' in dubland? By reading their literature.

Russia: Deaths result in religious controversy
by behemot indeaths result in religious controversyby vladimir kozlov at 14/10/2010 20:11two tragic events have attracted public attention to the way the jehovahs witnesses denomination operates in russia.
while members of the group allege discrimination by the government, many russians, including religion experts, are hostile to the sect, believing it to be a totalitarian cult rather than a legitimate religious movement.. last sunday, a newborn died in central moscow in the wake of a home birth gone wrong, ria novosti reported.
media reports claim that the mother, who was taken to hospital with severe bleeding, is a jehovahs witness.
