  At what point did you realize JW's were a Cult?

  most of us x-jw's at one point no doubt defended the jw's when called a cult.

  althought being out since 95', when i first came here it took awhile before i could use the cult word to describe the jw religion.

  finding out about the pedophile scandal was disgusting, but it was probably finding out here about the wts history and terrible personal experiences of some on this board that made me finally admit that the jw's were a cult.

  My reply: They are absolutely a cult Reniaa. The only reason the mjaority of governments and orgs do not readily see the WT as a cult is because, unlike most cults that follow a leader...JWs follow a group of men, nameless and faceless where the average JW could probably name no more than 2 or 3.

  300 young people, born after 1982 were interviewed.

  one of the authors is christopher cocksworth, the bishop of coventry.

  so today was my first sunday meeting that i didn't go with my wife.

  as an update she has decided not to move out right now...because she doesn't have anywhere to go.

  but she is giving me the silent treatment.

  Dan, I just asked my friend who went thru similar- He said you can block her from leaving the state with the kids. if she leaves it is called parental kidnapping...she has to have a letter that you sign giving her approval to take the kids. He said to tell you to file a motion for parental scheduling and that will block her from doing this.

  Dan, even if the kids do not go to school I doubt she can leave with the kids to another state if you fight it...don't back down but act quickly on this one!

  I know of cases where the mom left the state for a better job and was not allowed to take the daughter and had to choose between the job and her daughter...actually I know of 2 cases.

  Dan, I am pretty sure (especially if the kids are in school here) you can block her from uprooting the kids and leaving the state with them.

  Reniaa/Debator...it was only non-specific info to those blinded by the govenring body's self-proclaimed power. They were quite direct in a few pubs.

  i am so curious to ask this question, but i fear asking a practicing jw, because you know, they can be a tad evasive, and maybe defensive too.
