i came to jwd back in 2001, i was under a different name then.
i do not remember if i was introduced by gumby who is a dear friend of mine or if i had found this site through freeminds.org i was when i first came here pretty bitter as i went through pure hell with the jw faith and my family who are jw.. i was ready for a fight, and ready to rip anyones head off if they crossed me wrong.
i was bitter at the religion for almost fooling me twice as i was a mormon in my teenage years.
I found it when i typed "jehovah's witness" in Google
then there was some quiz on asking how much of a jw you are lol

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but does this sound right for a door to door JW?
Hello,
There is so much poverty in our world today don’t you agree?
In fact most of the world population does not live the life style we live, many go to bed hungry or fall asleep shivering from the cold.
Today poverty remains a harsh reality with civil war, floods, droughts and other problems.
There is a lack of employment and many struggle to find a job, this resulting in a life of crime.
Many of these people are depressed and feel hopeless and sometimes results in suicide.
Yet many ask, does God not see this? We are in desperate need of help!
Well there is a comforting answer to that
We once lived in a paradise, Adam and eve did in genesis chapter 2 verses 7-23
Belief in a new paradise in a new world without poverty is not just a dream. It is solidly based on the promises in the bible.
You hear that wonderful news?
Jehovah/God promises us in the bible that things are going to be better in the future!
See this Watchtower magazine I have here? Look at this picture wouldn’t you love to live in this lifestyle? Wouldn’t it be nice to live together happily on a paradise earth?
Here take this magazine…
By the way, would you be interested in a free home bible study?

i am sure that most of you here are familiar with psalms 83:18. .
so, whats the skinny?
what is the christian god's name?
I think the jews replaced the word Yahweh with the word LORD because there was so much controversy back then because eversince God's name was so holy they were afraid that they might mis-use it, they felt they were not even worthy to mention it....
so even if the name "Jehovah" was right, but I believe his name to be "yahweh" "I am who I am" it may not be right to misuse it....
the link I posted earlier has some good points on his name

the real reason why young people get baptized .... to make their parents happy and proud.
to be able to get married (which is some cases, is to get away from parents).
... okay, okay, i know it depends on how young we are talking.
Yeah, you're okay. But, to be baptized a Witness at that age, gosh that's just not right!
fair enough could you imagine disfellowshipping a 7 year old?

baptized as young as 6.That's sick and wrong.
I was baptised infant
Of cause that is when your parents say your vowels when your older you recieve "confirmation" but the church makes it very clear that you only do confirmation if you are happy with the Catholic faith.... there is no pressure at all, they'd rather you not do it if you don't want to

Hebrew has its own alphabet. In the Hebrew alphabet, the Name of God is written yodh-he-vav-he. The "yodh" looks a lot like our apostrophe and is the equivalent of our letter "i" or "y". The "he" is the equivalent of our letter "h". The "vav" looks like a yodh with the lower part extended down to the line on which the letters are being written, and is the equivalent of our "o", "u", "v", or "w". So the Holy Name can be transliterated into English as "YHWH" or "YHVH"; there's not really a reason to prefer one over the other that I know of.
The future tense of the verb "to be" in modern Hebrew is conjugated in part as follows:
aleph-he-yodh-he (pronounced "eh-hi-yeh") - I will be
tav-he-yodh-he (pronounced "ti-hi-yeh") - you will be
yodh-he-yodh-he (pronounced "yi-hi-yeh") - he will be
I don't remember how to spell "she will be" but it is pronounced "ti-hi-yeh-na".
Ancient Hebrew is a good bit wilder and woolier than modern Hebrew, and the form for "I am who I am" in Exodus 3:14 is "eh-hi-yeh a-sher eh-hi-yeh." But elsewhere in the Hebrew Old Testament the YHWH Name of God is spelled as yodh-he-vav-he.
Interestingly, the letters in the Hebrew alphabet all stand for numbers and the ancient Israelites did not have separate numerals. The value for yodh is ten and for he is five. The number 14 is written as yodh-daled (daled being four) but the number 15 is written as tet-vav (tet being nine and vav being six) because to write yodh-he would be to start writing out God's Name. Sixteen is written as yodh-vav.
