It really looks like a cardboard cutout pasted over a backdrop. Did these two really go to Brussels? Will bush eat his Brussel sprouts, or will he create a controversy like his Father did about broccolli?

I felt really old a couple of years ago when my two kids (aged 7 and 9 at the time) knew the song at a wedding reception, and jumped right in with the adults who knew it as well. My wife and I just sat back and felt OLD....

i can re-confirm the following from my weekend.. the district overseer, brother anderson, a very good, folksey speaker with lots of anecdotes, did indeed tell the story about calling on a distinguished british gentleman who turned out to be the retired head of the literature department at oxford.

Yes, I meant Theocratic Ministry School, not the KM. I knew I was getting that wrong.
Also, the DO's name is Andrews, not Anderson, as I previously stated.

What, be able to verify an anecdote? Ain't gonna happen. Or it will happen about the time dogs and cats answer the door and tell the housholder that no one's home....

I can re-confirm the following from my weekend.
The District Overseer, Brother Anderson, a very good, folksey speaker with lots of anecdotes, did indeed tell the story about calling on a distinguished British gentleman who turned out to be the retired head of the literature department at Oxford. He told this as a personal anecdote, as in it happened to him, not some other vague publisher. Supposedly, this individual praised the Kindom Ministry School as the reason why Witnesses are so good at the door to door work, and that people pay $$$ for equivalent training in communications courses at school. I dunno, I do feel that I have benefited from the KM school, but so could somebody going to Toastmasters.....
So, to the previous poster, was the talk given by the same DO?
He also gave the cruise ship variation of the old AIDS Mary Urban Legend (AIDS Harry?) Big loud groan from the audience when he hit the punchline. (aaannnnddd a rim-shot from the orchestra pit...)

Why The Scottish Will One Day Rule The World
by hillary_step ina heroic, if not harrowing account account from the centre of the tsunami devastation : scotsman.
rather amusing reaction from the royal bank of scotland when he contacted them for money to fly back to scotland - they were on holiday....lol for those who do not know, the scottish have a reputation for, how shall one put it, being careful with their money.
best regards - hs.

You are not that fellow that I met in the 'Nought For Nothing' pub in Ilkley who tried to sell me Belgium are you?
The gent ought to be rewarded with enough money to by the Outer Hebrides- 9 pounds and sixpence! (to shamelessly steal from Black Adder (and his crazy cousin Mad Mac Adder...)
