What is YOUR bible of choice?
by gloobster inalthough i'm pretty much an atheist, i still like reading the bible.
it's an amazing literary masterwork to say the least.. my question is, after discovering that the new world translation of the wts was poorly translated and altered in ways designed to support their various peculiar doctrines (see john 1:1, etc.
), what bible translation are you all the most fond of?.

Additional support for the "end to COs" speculation?
by sir82 inon the "c/os in the uk" thread, a newbie poster named "ernie" posted this:.
have the rumours about getting rid of cos been confirmed?
although not officially in the public domain , my understanding is that cos will not be given a new assignment after their existing one ends on aug 31st 2009. each co has been sworn to confidentiality on this matter.

Sex with Neandathals
by digderidoo ini was watching an interesting documentary called "sex with neandathals" last night, about the possibility that neandathal man could have been assimilated into the human gene pool by interbreeding.. it showed how modern man came from africa, whereas neandathal man came from europe.
at some points their paths crossed, but rather than modern human driving and forcing neandathal man into non existence they learned to co exist.. this is a developing theory amongst some scientists and anthropologists that seems to be getting a foothold.
it has been shown how similar species of animal have interbred, giving an example of two very different types of baboon.

You meant September 2008, right?
is this a prophecy or a typo.? come to think of it is everything? if true, this might help to allow the appointment of bros as elders and ms who did not qualify due to their wive's low field service hours.

It definitely is pathetic .... that she describes singing with no music as such a "fantastic" experience. Doesn't she realize that church choirs sing without music all the time? How sad.
you're wrong.
of course she doesn't know that church choirs sing without music all the time..she's never been to church...she may also never have experienced a huge sports crowd singing in unison or a crowd of concert goers doing similarly. but any crowd singing is an emotional experience a fantastic experience and if you begrudge her that experience then that is a little sad.

john blacks wife was liz..
gordon webbs wife was called honor.....she was on a study once and when the actual study conductor returned the next week and asked if the householder had enjoyed having the co's wife visit she siad yes she was nice but i thought it a bit strange that everytime you spoke to her you called her your honor. true story.
Actually I didn’t mind him. Someone told me that his wife Pauline died and that he was devastated……..Does anyone know if that is true…..????
he was so devasted that not long after he got married again to a girl who he had met just a couple of months earlier at a circuit assembly rehearsal and who was at least 30 years younger than him. her husband had ran off to london to be with his boyfriend. bethel was not impressed by the speed of the marraige so took him off circuit work. they were married a year when he died. poor girl.
keith gaydon also remarried as did cliff hensman (and he had to go to her husband to get him to divorce her)....do any widowered cos marry anyone older than them
