I can't believe how much attention Scholar gets for this non-subject, it's all speculation anyway. As a matter of fact the whole watchtower is build on speculation and that's not a good foundation for anything.b

Daniel's Prophecy, 605 BCE or 624 BCE?
by Little Bo Peep inhello all, i've been reading your site for a couple of years now, and have found, for the most part, it to be very helpful.
i must say, at first i was very "scared" at what i might find, but contrary to what i grew up learning, there is a "wealth" of information outside of the watchtower organization.
i haven't attended meetings for about two years now, and like many i've read about, have spent many hours researching, telling myself "i'm not wrong for searching", and doing more research.

this has been happening for decades in Europe, although these things only happen once in a while. We have this saying, soccer is war. And it's true, I never saw similar things happen in American sports, but then again I never watch American sports...hmm I do think I vaguely remeber some NBA player beating someone up some years ago...
Bas (of the ashamed of European soccer hooligans class)
PS, Jeannie the clubs in this incident are rivals from the same city, Milan Italy.

I loved the DaVinci-code, best book I read in years. As a matter of fact I have two other books by Dan Brown here, "The Juvenalis Dilemma" and "The Bernini Mystery", haven't read them yet though. Also I'm looking forward to part three of Langdon's adventures, and ofcourse the movie!b

How high will it go?
by jt stumbler inaverage gas price in colorado is around 2.35/gal.
theres talk that by this time next year it might get to 5.0/gal.
i hear alot of talk but none of our spineless government reps never do anything about it.

It'll get alot worse in the coming years. I expect exploding oilprices, high inflation, shrinking real income and unemployment at rates not seen since the Great Depression. I know nobody wants to hear it but this all will soon be reality and we will all be hit by it, JW and non-JW alike.

What good bible wisdoms do you know?
by Bas ini'm not much of a bible expert myself so i was wondering what good bible/jesus wisdoms do you know?
things that can help you in daily life by keeping them in the back of your mind.
also i'm not looking for cliche's that everyone knows regardless if they ever opened the bible, more like philosophical wisdoms that even atheists should know.

Bas
Thanks for your replies guys!b
I like the one the one Narkissos brought forth, the one about judging. I think it should stand shoulder to shoulder with:
"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" I find them both very important and they are derived using the same logic. "Love one another", I think is idealist as IMO you can't force love. But ofcourse it's good to keep this ideal in the back of your head. The one about friendship from the classicist is a nice one, it's also something you might find out by living The other rediculous, harsh and outdated quotes that quotes quotes point to the fact that the bible contains alot of bad advice too. I'm hoping for some more wisdom that still is relevant today, so keep it coming! Bas

Mp3sharing like breaking bread
by Bas inwell, i came to this when i was sharing numb/encore by jz/linkinpark with a friend of mine.
the song actually mentions breaking the bread, but what i mean is when u share a mp3 you still have the full song, sort of like the breaking of the bread story.
i'm also on a p2p network where i can download mp3's.
-
Bas
Well, I'd have to agree that we're dealing with a grey area here, and if albums would cost only $3 I'd probably buy a whole lot of them.
Back to the breaking of bread analogy, would any of you guys think that jesus was harming the poor bakers in the area with his little p2p breadbreakingnetwork?
