I don't know if this is the right place for but please someone help me out.

first and foremost let me describe my situation.

i am a senior in high school.

i've had a very rough past and alot of people have wronged me in many ways.

Everyone so far seemed to echo my sentiment pretty well in their own ways.

I just wanted to add this:

You may feel like you "Love" her, or think that she is worthy of persuing a relationship, and, not knowing anything about her, these things may be true. What you don't know though, is all of the things you will have to give up to have a serious relationship with her. These are the things you will HAVE to give up, no questions asked, to be worthy of her and the Organization she lives her life according to. Any below G-rated tv, internet, holidays, birthdays, friends who are non-jw, relatives who are non-jw, parties, smoking (if you do), wishing someone good luck, toasting to someones health, club or social group membership, college, a job that requires any overtime, Tuesday nights, Thursday nights, Saturday mornings, Sunday mornings/afternoons, Life saving blood transfusions or treatment that involves blood components, the safety of any children you may have from hidden pedophiles in the congregation, retirement funds, freedom to choose what you wear, independent thought, oral sex, saluting the flag, being patriotic, withholding physical (corporal) punishment from your children, gambling, entering another church, giving to charities, and heaven forbid someone you love should leave the religion because then you will be forced to treat them as if they were dead.

These are serious things to think about. I don't know if I would consider giving up my consience and free will to anyone... for anyone.

I'm sorry you're having to go through such a bad time, I wish you the best no matter what decision you make!

i did, i was thinking of how many jws are either a little weird, a bit eccentric or even borderline crazy!

we had one man in our hall that used to love giving people he liked duck eggs.

he'd try to get you to eat them before meetings for field service.

My sister and my nephew, again

as some of you may recall from other threads i have started on this topic, my sister is engaged in a battle for my 15 year-old nephew's mind, with her adversaries being her pentecostal ex-husband, his wife, and their church.. i wish i could say that my sister is a great parent and that this is purely a black and white issue, but unfortunately i have to admit that my sister leaves *much* to be desired as a parent.. my nephew, who is a pretty typical 15 year-old boy, is often in need of gentle correction for his sometimes thoughtless behavior.

but gentle correction is not what he gets from my sister, not in the least.

what he gets from her is constant anger, screaming, accusations, and the like.. a couple of examples:.

I would also be curious to know how she interacts with him when there's no one watching. Although you're her brother and she feels more comfortable around you, she may act even worse towards him when there's no one to see and judge. You're very correct in being concerned for this poor boy, and wanting to say something to her. I think the idea of spending some time one on one with him is a fantastic one, he probably needs to spend some time not walking around on eggshells.

I knew a few characters in my time in the Org growing up. Funny thing was... I was related to most of them...

My Uncle used to drive people away with his aroma due to his overdosing of garlic pills every day. It was funny to see how many less people raised their hands to answer on his side of the hall when he was running mikes.

There was one very elderly sister who went out in service every single day. She was quite a sweet ole thing, and said the same jokes- every day- all day. And there only about three, being- (At street signs) "'Dead End'- Ha! What killed it???" "Ah look- 'Slow Children'- Poor things!" "'School Crossing'- Where's it going?" Everyone in the car would just silently groan and indulge her with a chuckle. Her name was Myrtle and I just loved her to death.

The one poor sister who had a few "issues" and was gossiped about mercilessly was often picked up wandering around town by the authorities for causing a nuisance at local businesses. One time she was walking downtown with one shoe on and her bra outside her shirt telling everyone she was Madonna. She was really such a sweet lady and us kids really got a kick out of being around her. She was so much more interesting than anyone else at the hall and said such shocking things. We thought that was pretty cool.

Oh gosh... then the rest of my family pretty much- My aunt who wears all but full body armor in public due to "allergies", and believes that blue jeans are a sin to wear. My Grandma who would accost people at their cars to force her overflow garden vegetables on them. You knew it was zuchinni season when people started sneaking out of the hall early.

Backward Masking

if you're under about 30 this might not mean much to you but during the 80's and 90's there was always a heap of counsel on debasing music.it made you terrified to listen to anything except the brilliant kingdom melodies.

we had a big thing here in nz about music that had been recorded in such a way as to give some sort of demonic message in a subliminal way.we couldn't listen to stairway to heaven,hotel california and a host of other songs.ah hell!, we may as burn everything.but i found devo's whip it is masked and now i couldn't care less,great song.of course you could only check by turning your vinyl backwards.anyone get freaked out back then too?

I can remember the hype about "backmasking" as it was called in our area, quite well.

I can remember my Grandpa and Grandma having a record smashing session with my aunt and uncle, who were teenagers at the time. To their credit they turned it into a fun thing, using them as frisbies and the like. I was pretty young at the time and couldn't begin to tell you what the records were.

Artists who I remember my stepmother telling me were satanic were "Queen", "Beatles" "Rolling Stones" "Eagles"... among others.

Eagles have got to be my favorite group of all time now

Victorian Village that lights up and has moving features... little dancers in one of the windows and ice skaters. The living room looks so pretty with all the lights off and just this and the tree lit up.

Post your Christmas Tree!

well it's my first christmas and i am excited!!!!

i am shopping for giftola's, and on saturday the b/f bought me my very first christmas tree!

I LOVE this time of year. Thanksgiving night we were already setting out our Christmas decorations and putting the tree up. We had bought a whole bunch of stuff last year on holiday clearance, that I had actually forgotten about, so opening up the red rubbermaid containers this year was just like... Christmas!

We have a couple of trees in our house, but this is the main one in the living room. It's a sort of history book for our family. Things the kids have made the past few years and "First" ornaments. (Baby's First Christmas etc) The kids always help us decorate it, which is a wonderful family tradition I'm glad THEY don't have to miss out on!

WAS YOUR JW HOME DYSFUNCTIONAL?

some days are just worse than others: my mother screamed at me for like 10 minutes because i was running late for the bookstudy!

i don't even wanna go to these things!

and ever since that damn km that came out a couple months ago telling family heads the importance of having a regular family bible study my father won't even let a week pass by without us all gathered around the living room doing a question and ansewr out of the secret to family happiness book.

Oh yes! The Family Bible Study... your description brings back some really gag-o-rific memories!

We had ours every week too, for years and years, until the day I left. We studied all sorts of things... I remember studying the youth book, among other things. We never did the WT, we were expected to do that on our own time after school. You know... all that time left over for persuing spiritual goals other than after-school activities. We had to raise our hands too, and we had to prepare for the study ahead of time, so things had to be underlined and all that.

Boy, I wouldn't take a million dollars to go back to those days. My life was lived under a microscope, and nothing I did was good enough for an aspiring Elder's daughter. Blech!

Good luck with what you're going through. I don't envy you.
