Sorry Scoob but it is your 'wanna be' imagination. Those people are hateful, judgmental, lying, and hoping to save their own asses. I speak from 30 yrs of experience with them. OH! did I mention, self righteous? and putting on a show for observers such as yourself???

Jehovah's Witnesses as "a people......"
by ScoobySnax inwho out of all you nasty old apostates (tm) will agree with me, that if you take the gb that you dislike so much, and the watchtower that you hate out of the picture, will agree with me that at the end of the day, and on the whole, jw's really are a good bunch of people.
i did my same old rekky last sunday at the gillingham convention, and will have a good look around next sunday at twickenham convention.
i've been in lots of crowds, at stadiums and arenas, but an assembly is something else, it is somehow unique, its somehow different from any other crowds, there is a deep sense of "togetherness" i've not see any where else.

yes scoob, your observations are correct. they are marching along as mindless robots thinking they are winning points toward survival of the great tribulation and armageddon. no initiative nor individualism. Quite obedient to the outside observer, just do not look under the covers...!

I cannot even find the words to share. I am so very distraught. How defined of a sign does a believer need to recognize that this organization is is not christ-like? I am sick, sick to my stomach, no wonder I just disappeared. My good jw husband was more than likely sexually abusing our infant daughter, yet he has been given the benefit of the doubt. She could not stand up for herself with 2 witnesses! So, as far as the organization is concerned it never happened. So what does happen? Her behavior is identified as being demonized and therefore of no account within the jehovah's witness organization. Talk to anyone who understamds basic human behaviour and her's would be identified as having been sexually molested as an infant. Please, now excuse me I must stop

My opinion is the same as above. We have used it for filling our rentals. You get only the best people applying. Saves a ton of wasted time. Plus we've made a few purchases as well. Great place!

correct me if I am wrong, but, Confession, your feelings of responsibility to show them the 'light' about the org rings of a jw trained consciense. Being that what ever you are convinced of being 'right' is the same conviction they must/should come to, if only you could properly inform them. The controlled mind has blinders and paralyzing fear. Your happiness and good life may entice them to open their mental world a peek and question you a bit sometime, but don't count on it. Those who are like our parents and have devoted their lives to a belief cannot be expected to stand up and accept their whole life's pursuits were a waste. Even if they have secret suspicions and questions, it's just too much to face at their age. I have found that refusing to be questioned and drawn into conversations concerning beliefs is the best way. Their consciences can be easily appeased and thereby keeping the peace. They actually seek me out now due to the fact that my life is happy and productive - so unlike the rest of my (jw) family. My input has pulled them out of depressions and fears. The jw's are so negative and unloving, I'm afraid it has taken a toll on them. But changing their basic hope of not dying in this system of things is something they are holding onto with a vengence. Any alternative is just too scary and destabilizing at this point in their lives. Do not let jw instilled guilts overcome you and create havoc. Peace to you

At least 3 years...
by Confession infor some time now i've been searching the wts' publications for a policy that i clearly remember from my time as an elder.
but i just can't find it.
it was the one which stated that if someone--even a congregation servant--came forward and confessed to wrongdoing, there would not have to be a judicial committee, nor would a servant even need to lose his privileges--if at least three years had passed and the individual had put the sin behind him/her.

I was told in 1974 about the 3 yr thing when I finally got up the nerve to try and confess to a elder about something I had been suffering terrible guilt over for 3 yrs! lol, a worldly person I was very much attracted to kissed me, I was married and had a child. OMG! that's how sensitive I was. Interesting thing is, I never did have to confess because I was told it had been 3+ yrs. What a waste of my emotions for 3+years of feeling such intense guilt, responsibility and shame. Never Ever Again!
