tatt, cute. it just seems to me you and ianone keep basicly repeating yourselves in an effort to either convince yourself and/or others there was or is a conspiracy in action. Well, there very well may be and very likely has been, but, like i said, what can you do about it? convince others? not unlike the jws in their effort to convince others the world is ending, oh so very soon now. simply strikes a note with me and therefore my comments. peace.

taylor, you oviously love your mom very much. but, think about it, would it really be good for her at this point in her life to face the facts that she has been fooled and led on by this organization? i do not know her age, but if she is, say, 60+ it just may not be the best thing. it would be very hard for her to stand up and say my life as a jw has been a waste. a very very sad situation. i am in just such a situation with my parents, they simply do not know how to operate outside the org. they rely on it for everything. they are in their late 70's early 80's and have been jws since the 1950's. at this point in time, i do not see the org offering them any real comfort, maybe that is why they are now happy to hear from me and my personal opinions after so manny years of shunning. we never really know how things may take a turn and work out. our parents become children at some point and it is up to us to simply provide a good example. we must trust they will come to their own private conclusions. if your mother is speaking to you, be the nurturing parent. and be comforted.

by diamondblue1974 ini was reading the thread about the prospect of the wts releasing some new light shite about a prophecy to fulfil the fact that they are not growing and it brought back a really horrid memory, unintentional i know but horrid nonetheless.. the co visited the congregation were i was from and after the obligatory song and prayer, it was announced that the co needed to speak to us urgently on a local needs issue.
he came onto the platform his look was sombre and melancholy (nothing new there then).
he said he had an announcement from the governing body and that their had been a law passed that day which banned jw's in the uk that the usa and other world governments had notified the wts that they were to follow suit shortly.

Yes, I remember the same scenario. Sick practical joke which goes wrong in the minds of all the silent, frightened, and now anxious r&f. What a diabolical way to rock those (me too, then) emotionally controlled people's world! How embarrasing to have ever been associated with people who use such tactics. Must have been a great ego builder for those control freaks!

New World Order - Illuminati vs. WT Society
by lucky inbefore i start, i just want to say that this is not any sort of conspiracy-type thread and i don't believe russell was a member of the illuminati.. i just finished reading dan brown's angels&demons, before which i hadn't even heard of the illuminati.
it struck me as curious that the "new world order" as described in the book had some similarities with the society's teachings regarding events in revelation (including the name itself).
in particular, i found it interesting that the illuminati were/are seeking to destroy religion and establish a worldwide government.
