matt tells me that at his weekly medical meeting (with all dr's invited) at the hospital were he works, they had a "lovely" treat last week... a couple of elders booked a 1 hour slot to show a movie about alternatives to blood the borg has produced.

he said the snickering in the room made him embarresed as doctors who have been in the medical proffession forever tried very hard to stop themselves bursting out laughing at several things in the "movie".

firstly the "acting" was terrible.

Firstly the "acting" was terrible. He said they looked like glowing, smug, smiling aliens! The topic was way off course and the concept a joke! He said the question and answer bit at the end was a 20 minute piss-take of the dubs and he was embarresed for them! BUT he said when they left the room, the Dubs were looking very smug and pleased with the whole presentation.

What's the bet they left thinking they would be seeing several of those Doc's at the next meeting given that they were soooo taken with the dubs! And that they got at least an hours worth of time in! I checked out the official WT website and they have posted links to what I believe is the same video!

What a joke! Poor things...

Going to the Memorial Tonight? Whose Partaking?

As I posted on Concerned Mamas post, I am thinking about going and doing the following:

I am thinking a bottle of JD as, I shall point out, I MUCH prefer it to red wine (especially the alcohol free kind they serve). Get Matt to down the red wine and I shall fill the glass with JD, slug some back and pass on explaining that I am more than happy to share my Jack with anyone! I am also picturing some dip for the Doritos they pass around! Cheese chives and garlic dip should do the trick! Then yell Merry Passover, snog Matt, and lurch into a stirring rendition of "You'll never walk alone"!!

memorial ettiquette for worldy people??????

i have been away for a few days, so forgive me if this has already been covered.. am i (a non jw) supposed to refer to the memorial in any way talking to a jw?

for example, would i say "happy memorial", or could i ask if they had a nice celebration?

since it is the one and only big day each year is there some way to acknowledge it in a friendly type conversational way?

You got me pissing meself laughing over your post... I had forgotten the musical chairs/dance that takes place at the end to make sure that the snacks have been "passed" to EVERYONE!!! Wooo Hooo there is a KH about a mile from me, maybe Matt and I should go and have some fun like the last visit(different KH before anyone kicks off at me again)!!!!!

JWS Prosselizing on Paltalk

i have visited the jw and friends room a few times on paltalk,but usually i either get red dotted or booted for raising points they dont want raised,anyway yesterday i go in there under a different user name playing mr gun ho loyal witness,talking about how we should be loyal to the governing body,and dont want to get misled by the twisted lies of apostates and how we need to warn the world urgently to get into jehovahs organization or they will die at armaggedon,you know that sort of trash,very soon i get private text messages from jws that i should not talk like that as there were interested ones in the room i could stumble,who were not ready for such frank talk,anyway they hated this frank approach which showed them up to be a load of pawns in front of interested ones got suspicious and asked me to read todays day text,but of course i have no year book,hey is that proof of being a genuine jw nowdays knowing todays text!.

the point i am raising is this,the internet must be a wonderful tool for those who want to get their report brownie points up,i mean they can sit by the pc and mic and notch up hours and hours,even pioneer without going out of the house in the wind rain or snow.. is this the begining of cyber pioneer?

Bloody hell I wish I had of had access to the internet when I was pioneering!! Telephone witnessing was always great, but quite difficult to motivate yourself and sound happy and chipper all the time! Sooo sitting in front of a PC in my dressing gown sipping coffee, chatting on the net and getting my hours in would have been orgasmic!

When Leaving - what did you find hardest to do??

when you left the borg.... what things did you find hardest to do again ( or for the first time?)?.

was it celebrating the holidays for the first time, or talking to a "worldly person"?.

how long till it began to feel normal?

Hardest for me was bumping into dubs from my cong. when I was out shopping and having to face the "Why are you no longer attending meetings?" when all I wanted to say was: "Because I shagged an MS and can't face seeing him at the meeting". I also think my 1st free birhday was difficult. My new worldly friends found out the date and all bought me presents and shit... I did not know what to do and felt VERY guilty!!

LOL those where the days!

how did going to the kingdom hall, interfere with your tv viewing?

i love watching american football, so right after the meeting all in my family would go straight for the car, so we could catch as much as possible.

We used to miss so much before we got a VCR... but I remember having the BS at our house and my father was counselled as the video recorder used to kick in during the BS recording something on timer record!! Ohhhhh those were the days!
