Yeah, I guess they just needed an excuse to "get rid of her" since she wasn't worth the work because of her disability.

Do these 'elders' know that your sister has a learning disablity?
Oh, yes, THEY KNOW!!! My sister, crying and all asked "how can I get help from my mom, I need her". (she's 3 months pregnant) She needs my mom more than ever right now. Mom use to babysit every week. I'm not sure if I can take THAT responsibilty because her kids are out of control. Maybe I can once a month or something.
I have to step up to the plate now and be the big sister. That's a hard one because my sister and I have always butted heads.
Oh, and the elders answering her, told her "well, now YOU can go out and to the bad things that you want to do". They also told her "you haven't *lost* your mom. YEAH RIGHT!!! Mom's not talking her as of yesterday when they found out.
Thanks for letting me rant. I'm ANGRY, ANGRY, ANGRY!!!
Did mention I'm ANGRY?

Is this the sister who just had a baby?
No...actually, this is the sister that "turned me in" because she thought she would "help" me, and I ended up in a JC meeting. But I told a white (whopper) lie and didn't get DF'd myself. I'm trying my best to stay in long enough to help the rest of my family see the ways of the bOrg <ewww>.
I did finally reach her. She was crying hard because she thought *I* was also going to shun her and it got her crying to see that I didn't and won't. She told me she was SO sorry for "telling" on me but she thought at that time that she was only helping me. She told me that I was the only one in the family (I'm considered the "black sheep") to show her love.
So now, I need to go at this slowly, especially with her husband because he's STILL convinced that they were DF'd for the right reasons.
I'm so ANGRY that I'm shaking here!!! I've just got to not show that anger and hold it in because of my parents.
Oh, and get this...I was talking with Mom and asked her if it IS the right religion, then why can't she show me, her response "I don't have to prove it". I guess she doesn't have to prove it since she's a sheep and I'm not. Go figure.

Hi all,
I'm really concerned for my sister and her husband. They both got DF'd last Thurs. and I found out today cause my mom called crying histerically telling me the news. My sister has a learning disability and can't quite understand why she's DF'd. They celebrated Christmas this past year. A JD meeting was formed and she said "sorry" but she did wanted to know why it was wrong. They wouldn't have DF'd them if they "hadn't asked questions". I'm angry! I'm angry with my parents. I'm trying to call my sister, but can't get a hold of her. I'm sure I'M going to get DF'd too for talking with her...but in good conscience, I can't ignore her!!! UGH!!
So those that believe in a deity, please pray for my sister and I. I also want to handle this in a gentle way. I just want to cry. When is this maddness going to stop???

FreedomFrog, don't feel bad for not being there - I just couldn't do it when my 19 year old cat was put down.
Thanks carefully faded, it's hard not to feel bad...but with just losing my favorite bird Cheeko, I just couldn't bring myself to go. I've been hurting so bad over my birds death that I didn't think I could take watching her go. I had decided that if AA couldn't have gone I would have gone so she wouldn't be alone.
I wasn't there when Cheeko died at the vet hosp. (couldn't make it there in time) and I'm feeling terribly guilty that I wasn't there...she probably was thinking I gave her up because of her being sick. Though, if I could have I would have stayed at that hosp. over night with her. But I couldn't and that hurts.
It's strange to not have Kitty here. We got her a year after we were married. I believe she was about 3 weeks old (this will be 14 years of marriage for us). She was "wild" but very sweet. We couldn't come up with a name so we just started calling her "Kitty". I remember one night she was "attacking" us in a playful manner but was a tad rough. I pointed at her and said "no" at the same time Dave push her away with his foot (she didn't see him do it) and she slipped off the bed. She got up and looked at me with this confused look as if to say "you just pointed at me...HOW in the heck did you knock me off the bed???" You know, come to think of it, she liked Dave best from then on.
I also have "heard" her in the kitchen now a couple of times. I've heard her "jump" on the counter and back off (I must be going crazy). I've also heard her "meowing" for her food. This morning I went to get her food because I heard her and then remembered that she's not here.

Was I a coward?
by DanTheMan inright before i disassociated myself last march, i sent an email to quite a number of jw's that contained only a link to an "apostate" website that had been instrumental in my seeing the the truth about the wt.. well, nobody responded to it except for one person, a guy who i hadn't had any contact with my last year in.
he started out with "yikes, do you know i'm disfellowshipped?
" he then went on for several paragraphs defending the org, how loving the brothers were when they disfellowshipped him .

Actually Dan, AA has quite a bit of respect for you. The day we were sitting around talking about options on how to "get out", the first thing that came out of Dave's mouth was "I wonder how we can contact Dan".
You posting anything just showed you had concerns. I say all the time that I just can't believe my parents are so stupid in believing all this crap. But then in 3 years they may be pulling up this thread...so I'll refrain.
I'm glad that you two got a chance to "catch" up on old times.
BTW- For those who don't know, AA is my sweet husband.

So AA caught you up on what's happening. (He's a good man)
I'm not sure if I want to go. As you all know, I just lost my Cheeko this past Jan and I'm STILL having trouble with it. We've had Kitty ever since she was about 3 weeks old. I want to go and be with her, but I don't know if I can take the emotional aspect of it. I'm thinking it may be too hard for me but then I'm afraid that I'll regret not going later. I was the one to take her to the Vet today and I did say bye when I left her there. One of us WILL be there with her, it's just who. I have until 5pm to decide. YUCK! I may be ok with Dave going alone because at least she'll have someone there that she knows. He spent more time with her than I did. <sigh> This is hard for me to decide. Well, it's not 5pm yet.

"No. We are not going to pretend we're hanging ourselves off the gatepost anymore to scare our friends. Are we? ARE WE?" <grabs son's ear>
LOL
Sounds like my son. He wanted to lay on the sidewalk one day to "fake" people out so they would think he was dead.
