Jurs,
Yes I have the same problem. I do not use Jehovah, I use Father, God, I use Lord a lot and sometimes Yahweh. I just do not like any association with the WT.

when i first started studying 10 years ago with jw's i felt uncomfortable using jehovah's name.
i can't explain why but i avoided using it.
after awhile it became a beautiful name to me.

with all the problems in the 'truth' and all the things that we know are wrong with it there seems to be aspects of their theology (i.e the sequences of the world powers, statue in daniel, the promise of world restoration again found in daniel) that to me still make sense.
although i cannot follow a religion that believes in the destruction of all humanity barring those that respond to their own preaching work i still believe in a creator and cannot accept the teachings of other religions that have no purpose for the earth and believe that mankinds only destiny is in heaven.
my mind keeps telling me that if god was behind a religion it would be so much better than that of the jws.
Individual,
I would just like to add a little bit of my experience to what the others have said. When I left, about 9 years ago, I felt like that, "where do I go now" Through some fortunate happenings (?) I found out about the exjw convention in Pennsylvania. I decided to go, even though I still thought "those people" were those "apostates"
At that convention I met some very loving exjws, I heard some very good talks based on the bible and very sound teaching. I came to the realization as someone else mentioned that the question is not, where do I go, but to Whom do I go, as the bible clearly states.
I prayed to God and, yes, to Jesus, in other words what is known as the sinners prayer. Everything has not been rosey since then, I lost almost all of my family, but I have had a happiness that I had never known in my life. After about 9 years of trying to get through to my family, finally early this year, my son left the WT, and he too gave his life to our Lord. I am sure you know how happy that made me. Now we are both trying to get through to the rest of our family.
I agree with what others have said also about not having to belong to a religion. I enjoy the fellowship of other believers. I have gone to several churches but it is to Jesus Christ that I belong. I will meet with other Christians and enjoy being with them and singing those beautiful songs that I would not permit myself to even hear before.
Whether I ever join a church or not does not matter to me, I have a wonderful world of fellow believers who know what true unconditional love is, and I am satisfied with that.
God bless you on your journey.

how does jehovah issue the call to his people?
If anyone thinks that all JWs are above killing "apostates" just take part in a demonstration at Brooklyn or one of the WT conventions, that is a real eye opener to anyone who thinks that JWs are all kind, law abiding, wonderful people.
I personally believe that most JWs are kind, law abiding people, but, I have participated in demonstrations and have witnessed some behavior from JWs that indicated, if they were only given the chance, they would gladly stone us, including the ones of our group who were never JWs, and were there only to lovingly try to show the JWs the error of their beliefs.
At Brooklyn, during a peaceful demonstration, while I was standing on a corner saying nothing, just wearing a sign encouraging JWs to examine their religion, a bethelite came from behind me bumped me rather hard with his shoulder, I did not even know he was near me and the street was not crowded, this fine example of Christianity then proceeded on down the block without even looking at me or saying excuse me.
I could tell more such stories about being cursed etc. but I think the point is made. There is no doubt in my mind that some JWs would be very violent, given the opportunity. One time I asked a JW, because of the hatred she was displaying, "don't you wish that stoning still existed?" She replied with an emphatic "yes"

i post the following at the request of barbara anderson.. .
as a result of the newspaper report calling attention to my actions i feel compelled to provide further information that has come to light and deserves full exposure.. the society is very much aware of my intentions, because of a private e-mail i innocently wrote someone was forwarded to the society without my permission.
you can read it in its entirety, below.
Barbara,
I want to add my thanks to you also. I know you and Bill will keep up the good work. I am just thinking, to me, this gives new meaning to "out of the mouths of babes"

well my friend, after a second attempt to reach out to me and give me the decision last night i received an unexpected visit from two of the local elders.
apparently the two wts agents decided to pass the torch to the local elders this time.
this was organized by the co along with wts instructions.

Nazi Germany was a little early for the name Jehovah's Witnesses. I think they were known as International Bible Students.

I guess then the July 15,2003 Watchtower will give instructions for making the special Watchtower Kool-Aid. Borgfree
if the organization did not actually prophesy the end in 1925 and 1975, then how come so many witnesses left the faith immediately afterwards?
("they lost roughly three-quarters of the movement between 1925 and 1928, then suffered huge losses after 1975, when the end didn't come as they had implied over and over again," said jim penton, an ex-witness who writes entries on jehovah's witnesses for the encyclopedia americana.
if the watchtower organization rejects others calling them "inspired" yet the watchtower organization does call themselves "god's spirit-directed prophet" what is the difference?
Brutus,
Very good points, most of those were shown to me a long time ago and are the reason I lost all confidence in the WT. Then found better answers than the WT offered me. borgfree
a friend and i have come across a quantity of crisis of conscience in like-new condition, both english and italian editions.
we're in a quandary as to how to make best use of them.
we were thinking of donating them to the libraries or to perhaps cut a deal wth a local christian book store.
Room 215,
When I left the WT about 10 years ago I donated Ray Franz's books and several others to the library. They are still there and are checked out often. I have also been invited to several churches to present programs about the WT. In those I have used videos literature etc. and everything was appreciated by the churches. Maybe it is just our area but I think library's and churches are both places that would use them. Borgfree
