since there isn't an "other" forum.. my hubby is a die-hard regular razor kinda guy.
i want to buy him a nice electric (or cordless) shaver for christmas (help cut his shave time in half).
i went to consumer reports to see what they said - and they haven't reviewed it.. does anyone have any recommendations?.

i was at work tonight and we were joking around and talking about old shows we used to watch while growing up.
i thought it would be fun if we wrote a line from a show and see if we could guess what show it came from.
my name is lenny, and if i ain't got it, there isn't any.
Ding Ding ...... Conflicted.

I bought my husband a Norelco ... I can't remeber the style but it is the kind that dispenses lotion and is waterproof. It is dark blue .... He loves it ...... clean shaves and no iritation.

I find it odd that some wouldn't allow their kids to see these things in a real life scenario, but I betcha these same 14 year olds have seen a million R-rated movies like Silence of the Lambs or Hannibal. Which is better, to be entertained by gore or to realize it's real, and it isn't funny. As for myself, I choose NOT to watch violent movies. Why should I want to be entertained by images of death? Real people are living real lives where there is no director poised to shout, "CUT!"
Excellent point!!
My two cents worth. I believe that your sister-in-law is being presented with a real learning opportunity here.
She can watch and feel excruciatingly uncomfortable .... and grieve for the loss of many innocent lives. She can choose to remember that grief and make different choices than she might have had she not been touched by it.
Or
She could choose to stand up and fight for her right not to participate in an assignment that she finds offensive.
Or
She could have someone else fight for her in an effort to protect her from something that might be both excruciatingly uncomfortable and offensive.
Any way you cut it, she is going to learn from this. Which lesson would she deem most valuable?? Which one would you have her pass on to her children??

I am sorry for your experience Billygoat, but I am of the belief that man has invented only three truly great things .... the flush toilet .... the telephone .... and the depo provera shot! I LOVE it ... No cramping ... no menstruation .... and it is as effective as a tubal ligation. My husband will also attest to the fact that it doesn't always decrease libido ....

i just read the tragic story of the man in chicago who beat his daughter to death.
i have read stories here and on silentlambs about sexual abuse.. my question is: how much fault can be placed on the religion and how much on the perversions of a particular individual?
i frankly don't know the answer to this question.
Perhaps the religion sets up certain conditions that can allow these kinds of horrific events to occur. On the other hand, most people do not succumb to such evil, even if the system makes allowances for it.
I have to agree with you on this one.... I think that the WTBS does create an environment that is extremely attractive and even protective of perpetrators of many different kinds of abuse. I also think that this does not absolve the offender of their personal responsibilities for their actions.
In the end ... both are guilty...

has anybody ever had any urges to act strangely at the kingdom hall?.
i remember having two very strong urges:.
the first was to stand up while everybody else was quietly listening to the meeting and throw my bible across the hall in a fit of frustration with the intention of hitting someone and waking up.

That still leaves these two…. I’ll give you a hint … they are both Steve Martin movies
"Sew! Sew like the wind!" also from the same movie "These are funny guys .... just kill one of them"
Another one …. "I'm in print!" and from the same movie ..... "I'm picking out a thermos for you .... not an ordinary thermos will do..."
