Thanks for the continued input. I haven't been paying much attention for a while... new CO arrangement? Whats that all about?
Also, I think that experience with this lot tells us that they never change any arrangement unless they have some other agenda. They aren't concerned about saving the Br and Sis money. If that were the case they would have dropped witnessing in rural territories years ago.
I think that there would have to be a hidden agenda. Maybe it is to do with the molestation cases, but it will be something that reduces the liability of the gb at some point for something. There is always a reason and it is usually to save them money, not the r&f. IMO

The WTS lawyers ended the Book Study Arrangement
by lawrence into hell with the god-given book study arrangement, screw the spiritual table of food, and end the "brotherly fellowship".
the wts lawyers dictated, "end the home book studies, minimize our liability.
" and so the arrangement ended with an imprimatur by the wts lawyers, a boe letter, and a km article.

Wow!!!
The things you find out when you visit. Is there anymore to the official reasons why this is happening? I noted the comments from sir82, is there any letters that can be "quoted" from?
What is to happen with the "free" night that they all will have? -

Hi again to all and thank you for taking the time to post replies. I get the feeling that what i said rang true in most places. Ozzie, i wonder if you had any copies of the correspondence you refer to? Or know if there is any on the web anywhere? I would love to be able to refer to that! My wife has an aunt who is dying. The whole family except for an uncle are dyed in the wool dubz. We told the uncle about the "funeral" custom of no coffins in the hall. They then mentioned it back to my wifes parents who had to "correct" them on the matter and then they told us that they had to correct them about it too. I have somewhere a copy of the funeral talk outline. It is a preach in disguise. If so and so were he they would tell us that their hope was blah blah paradise blah... and they would show you the scripture here in Revalations..... we all heard it many times. I wondered how the non dubz ever thought it was nice service? Beyond me. Maybe i could sell the a bridge? Thanks again

Hi all, Yes it's been a while since I have posted. Mostly traveling ok, with normal stresses and strains. So have a question about funerals. My recollection was that up to about 3-5 years ago, elders were to discourage having the coffin in the K hall. With the preference being a memorial service. I think that there were letters from the "slave" about such a thing. We wouldn't want the person who has died to be getting any attention now would we? We attended a funeral and the coffin was left in the hearse outside the hall, while everyone was inside. It was bizarre to say the least, what a fine witness it was to all her friends and relatives that were not jw. Please, anyone in the know, tell me I have the wrong impression, and have read this wrong. I am losing touch with my rules and regulations jw brain, so anything is possible. Thanks for taking the time to consider this.

I used to wonder if you would ever miss it if you stopped going. Well, it's been nigh on three years, and I dont miss a thing. All the wasted years of mind control. I went through a short phase of, well not actually missing the people, but the idea of "friends". Now my wife and I have found a couple that are low key, know about our cult past and are easy to hang with if we/they want too, no pressure, no judgement. Very nice..

I had a guy do that to me once. He was a do not call and I didnt see it. Ooooops, he came to the door, grabbed the mags and proceeded to tear them. I was not happy. If he could have seen me later, I was wheel barrowing all my theocratic library and tossing it all into the dumpster....... now that's freedom

Proof that molesters are at the Kingdumb Hell
by cultswatter innotice that the dubs are in their "hall" clothes (which is not unusual) .they must be expecting molesters at the khall.

I think if we could check out this picture, it is probably taken on a platform in some K Hall somewhere, not in someone's home...... adds weight to the concerns raised.

Law suits by the Society against websites
by isnrblog inon this site and others i have been reading about the watchtower society suing bloggers and website owners because they quoted the watchtowers publications.
a couple of observations.
if you quote a publication that was publically distributed by the millions of copies, how could you be liable?

WTWizard has hit it on the head "I think that is just a way to expunge old "light" and make it look as if the current view has always been that way."
The last thing they need are all the new ones finding out about what the "used to believe". We know how contrived the historical account of the proclaimers book is, totally disinfected and some very key elements missing. White washes like that Marty Cole book and MacMillans book....what a joke. Then there are people who buy all the old books that come up off ebay on their behalf.
George Orwell wrote their directive. -

What is astounding about this, is the fact that they can quote and not print the source, that they can misquote and name the source!!!
