While I was not able to find a good link, I was able to post using the HTML insertion tool and the code provided by Flickr. I guess that will have to do for now. Thanks everybody.

I am able to see the plant, both on the first post and later on. Still, I don't understand why I can't seem to post the picture. I see a broken link by blondie (post 36145), which may mean she has the same problem. I'm trying again here...What I find curious is that if I put the link in the URL on a browser (provided I'm not logged into Flickr), I can see the pictures which I've made public, in this case the short link http://flic.kr/p/jywxyS. Why the JWNet cannot preview it beats me.
The link you provided worked. How did you get it? It's completely different from what I get when I ask Flickr to share. I have another picture and I'm not sure if I can get the right link for that.
Thanks.

Hmm...Maybe it's me and my browser. I don't see any "plant", "sample" or "test" picture in this thread. I took the picture myself (the one on my link), here in town. I'm saying that assuming that anyone can see the picture in question from the link I provided. I'm going to have to use a different service and see if I can link it.

Here's the link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/83207324@N05/12182510786/in/photostream/
I got that one by right-clicking on the picture and copying the link. That is the same link as in the URL.
Also, if I select ways to send (bottom right corner), I can select the public link. It tells me to copy it for use: http://www.flickr.com/photos/83207324@N05/12182510786/
The problem is the same there. I was hoping to avoid creating yet another photo account (besides Picasa, Flickr and whatever is associated with Outlook.

The actual FB message is "Bad Image" "There was a problem with the image file." At one point (it's not doing it anymore) received a security challenge (ID and Password) dialog for Flickr. it didn't work.

Incidently, the picture will not post on FaceBook either, using the URL. There, I receive and "Error" in red.

OK. I went back to Flickr and selected the picture to display in either 500 (x 374) or "original" size and then selected "Edit" for the license. Then I checked the (green) box "Anyone can see this photo", which shows a checked radio button "Anyone (Public)" and saved it. It still does not display in the preview when inserting here and does not display in the post.

I've done this once before but can't remember from which service. When I try using your steps, I get the following statement:
" Are you sure you want to continue without including an Image Description? Without it the image may not be accessible to some users with disabilities, or to those using a text browser, or browsing the Web with images turned off. "
This time, I entered a description. Then, I get a broken-image icon. As I recall, when pasting the image URL in the dialog box, a sample of it appears. I get none. Could it be that the image is not set to public? I'm not sure how to change that in Flickr.

when i was last here, my mother had recently been diagnosed with cancer.
there were potential issues regarding transfusion, none of which eventuated.
she undertook a course of chemo which worked quickly and effectively, with minimal side-effects.
While any such an incident is regrettable, specifically the condition that took your mother’s life, it is undeniable that you loved her and that you both enjoyed a close relationship. You may want to think in terms that perhaps neither of you asked the tough questions because you understood each other and there was no need; that she somehow knew how devastated you would be at her loss as you understand how hard her death has been for you. Don’t concentrate on what you didn’t say and instead think deeply about the good things you both shared. It’s not constructive to play the wouldof, shouldof, couldof game. Instead, bathe yourself in her good memories and feel her presence and influence in all you do.
