Sorry LMSA , maybe I misremembered different wording.

Did anyone watch his video on the latest Watchtower statistics. I made an exception and watched it because I’m interested in the topic. (Made sure to send a dislike for the algorithm though) It was superficial and he sounded bored. I think he can’t be bothered making JW videos any more. But he likes the free money, so what can he do? He’s kind of stuck.

He has basically signalled his intention to his fans that he intends to do less work for more money, and so far some suckers have apparently taken him up on the offer, because his Patreon numbers are up by about 40. But will it last? Or will it be a temporary bounce before his Patreon numbers begin to slide again?

If he keeps churning out (as he puts it) boring content like the statistics video then I can’t see people paying money for that. Other channels get a lot more views but probably don’t get half the money he does. He’s clearly got a skill for getting people to send him money for very little effort. He’s got begging down to a fine art.

His Patreon now says:

It used to say that it “all goes toward the channel”, or something very similar, not “keeping me involved”. He’s changed the words slightly, but completely changed the meaning. I guess in his mind “keeping me involved” is a sanitised way of justifying spending Patreon money on prostitutes. Has anyone got a screen grab of the old wording?

By his own admission, he thought he could use the money however he wanted, ‘like a doctor’, or whatever his weird justification was. Why wasn’t he booted off Patreon for misusing funds? The fact he changed the wording is proof that he knows the old wording was a lie.

No way! I would be shocked if they do that. About 1/3 of JWs are still on Zoom. They’d lose a lot of people if they dropped it. Even before the pandemic, there were a few who joined by telephone. I don’t think they would drop Zoom now.

Perhaps the best comparison is what previous study books said:

The new study book has a different slant on Jesus’ role in creation.

Compare the comment in the Enjoy Life Forever! book (2022):

Jesus is a powerful spirit who lives in heaven. He was created by Jehovah God before everything else. For that reason, he is called “the firstborn of all creation.” The Bible refers to Jesus as God’s “only-begotten Son” because Jesus alone was directly created by Jehovah. Jesus worked closely with his Father, Jehovah, helping Him to create all other things. Jesus continues to enjoy a close relationship with Jehovah. He loyally serves as God’s spokesman, “the Word,” delivering His messages and instructions.

With the Insight book (1988):

Not a co-Creator. The Son’s share in the creative works, however, did not make him a co-Creator with his Father. The power for creation came from God through his holy spirit, or active force. And since Jehovah is the Source of all life, all animate creation, visible and invisible, owes its life to him. Rather than a co-Creator, then, the Son was the agent or instrumentality through whom Jehovah, the Creator, worked. Jesus himself credited God with the creation, as do all the Scriptures.

Is that a change or am I reading too much into it?

That would seem to be the most parsimonious explanation despite all his bluster about it being his own plan. In order to understand what he is doing it really is necessary to completely discount what he says he is doing. Any correlation between his words and his actions is purely coincidental because he says whatever is useful to himself to say in any given moment regardless of whether it is true or false, or indeed contradicts what he has already said or what is otherwise demonstrably true.

Sometimes changes were made due to refinements of belief, other times proof reading glitches or copyright issues played a part. Sometimes what was produced caused questions to be raised.

It’s a wonder they didn’t change the picture with apparent sodomy in it. Or did they?
