I was responding to Hopeless1, and before I read your post. I agree the report should be out soon. I seem to recall it being published on Boxing Day in previous years. It should be any day now.

Are the statistics out yet?
by slimboyfat inisn’t it about time they released the report for the service year?
or have they stopped publishing it?
did they released selected figures at the annual meeting as they usually do, such as the memorial attendance or record number of pioneers?

Thanks, but my reading of that announcement is that the 2022 report will be published as normal.

Will JWs throw you under the bus if you have a transfusion?
by Vanderhoven7 inmark writes.
"if a person accepts a blood transfusion, the jehovah’s witness elders are required to “investigate” to see if the person is sorry for “cowardly” saving their life.
if the person doesnt beg and grovel to the elders for allowing the doctor to save their life (or that of their child) then the elders can take this as a sign that he/she has disassociated from the congregation - and tell the congregation to start shunning them.. if someone willingly takes blood, perhaps because of being under extreme pressure, the committee should obtain the facts and determine the individual’s attitude.

They seem to have moved toward a don’t ask don’t tell approach these days, or failing that a forgive and forget policy. The only scenario where JWs would tend to get in trouble would be where they take blood, are loud about it, and don’t repent. Having said that, all JW rules are subject to the eccentricities and particular motivations and interpretations of local elders, so unusual outcomes are not impossible.

Is The Religion Of Jehovah's Witnesses Biblical?
by Vanderhoven7 inthe answer is a definite no!.
because every doctrine that is unique to jehovah's witnesses is not in the bible.
the unique doctrines of jehovah’s witnesses are the ones that only jehovah’s witnesses teach.

JWs claim to base their beliefs on the Bible. For some of the ‘unique beliefs’ you even included the specific verses they base these beliefs on.
I think the belief that Jesus is the first creation of God and an angel is well supported in scripture: Col 1.15; Rev 3.14; Prov 8.22; Gal 4.14; Phil 2.6-11; Heb 1.4.

Research project: A study designed to explore the experience of leaving the Jehovah’s Witnesses
by Researcher2023 inas part of a psychology msc research project, i am looking for participants to take part in a study designed to explore the experience of leaving the jehovah’s witnesses.. former witnesses who were raised in the organisation will be asked a few questions about their reasons for leaving, their experience of leaving, and how their life has changed since leaving.. taking part involves completing an interview over the internet.
according to research needs, the number of questions asked in each interview may vary.
the interview will take between 5 – 90 minutes depending on the questions asked and the level of detail you wish to provide.. your participation will remain confidential and anonymous, and it is completely voluntary so that you may withdraw at any time up to two weeks after the interview.

It seems that LE actually expected Kim to deal with his wife for him. He was too lazy even to do that for himself, and imagined that he could outsource his wife to Kim to calm her down and keep quiet while he enjoyed himself in Thailand. Most of his actions are explained by a combination of laziness, stupidity and greed. To be fair, those probably motivate a lot of us, a lot of the time, ha! But he doesn’t seem to have any system of regulating those impulses even when it is clear they are producing disastrous outcomes unchecked.

He is the one who passes judgement on other people all the time, merely for having different political (and other) opinions than him, yet somehow he acts as if nobody has any right to object to his, actually harmful behaviour. Don’t forget that he invited people to judge for themselves, and make up their own mind, during his livestream. I guess he only said that because he was (bizarrely) confident that people would back him up. What he means by wishing he had ‘handled it differently’ is probably that he would have lied even more in order to cover his tracks, if he had realised it would cost him over half his patrons, and lose him virtually all his unpaid workers and co-presenters. His distortions, brazen accusations, and nauseating self-pity are so innovative in their audacity, relentless in their stupidity, and exhaustingly impervious to self-reflection, shame, or contrition, it is genuinely bewildering where he finds the gumption to carry on this charade.
