  I’m a connoisseur of churches, at least pre pandemic. I’ve not been to anything called an “atheist church”, exactly, but the nearest thing is probably the “Sunday Assemblies” that have spring up in various places.

  There are more than a few atheists in Unitarian churches (particularly New Unity, in London) probably a few at Quaker meeting houses, and a few spiritual atheist types in very liberal churches such as the Episcopal church (Richard Holloway being an example).

  Many Unitarians would describe themselves as agnostic or deist or some other non traditional theist position falling a bit short of outright atheism.

  I’m not going to spell it out exactly, in case he reads this thread, but it seems glaringly obvious to me what kind of videos he makes that are popular and those that are not popular. What’s amazing is how few he makes of the popular variety and how he keeps “churning out” (as he puts it) the least popular kinds of videos at an increasing rate.

  I would really like to have a print copy in the various languages when they come out but I don’t suppose there’s any way to actually do that unless you have good contacts. Back when they sold the literature at least you could order and buy copies of whatever you wanted.

  Makes you wonder, if he has a lot of money, why did he choose to stay in the same house as his parents in law all these years?

  I realised he must be doing pretty well when they had an earthquake a few years ago, and people were sending him a lot of money, he made a comment that people didn’t need to send so much money because they were in no danger of being homeless. At the time I thought he must have received significant amounts of money to prompt him to make that partial brake on the volume. Now, with everything we know, the mind boggles how much money people must have been sending him that even he thought it was too much.

  His recent videos are struggling to get to 5k views.

  If he manages to branch out to other subjects that’s a plus I’d say. He can do less harm that way, and might just give up JW videos altogether. Although I doubt there’s much of a market for videos of atheists making making insincere interviews with wacky believers. And “God’s Buffet” - what an awful title. Grifter through and through.

  Allegheny Pyramid Desecrated

  sometime within the last 2 weeks, someone took a sledgehammer to the pyramid monument in allegheny.

  they stole the topstone, smashed the cross and crown emblem and removed the seal.. personally i'm surprised it lasted this long untouched.

  although through the years russell's grave has been vandalized, it was always repaired by the bible students..

  jws are now publishing more video content than printed content.

  all the printed content up until now has either officially or unofficially been made available in digital format with the ability to search for keywords, which removed a layer of control and allows us to instantly find any references to, say, 1975 or "this generation".

  I think it’s fair also to say the magazines were increasingly illustrated with photo and art illustrations over time. That may gave accelerated in the 1980s, perhaps also due to the technology of colour reproduction.

  The Watchtower Study articles certainly got less wordy along the way too. I know a sister whose nickname was “paragraph 29” because she was always late for the meeting. But study articles never run to 29 paragraphs any more.

  Good points. I’d give your post a thumbs up, if I could.

  It’s easier to identify pre-1975 books Franz wrote: Babylon The Great Has Fallen! is a good example.

  Post 1975 I suspect he wrote, or helped write the Trinity brochure and the Divine Name brochure. But I don’t know what apart from that. I think he became blind in the 1980s so that may have curtailed his writing too. The Survival book is in the mould of Franz with all the typologies but I think that is credited to someone else (forget who) that probably followed in Franz’s footsteps theologically.

  He wrote a couple of short books, I think, one titled something like “What Really Happened at Bethel?” And “Thus Saith The Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses”. The second seems to still be for sale, but I can’t find the first. Did I imagine it? He also published a newsletter about JWs for a while. I can’t remember the name of that either. I think a lot of the website content was first issued in the newsletter. It would be good to have all these items in an archive. Maybe Atlantis has already done it but don’t want to presume Atlantis has to do all the work all the time.
