  What has changed since January 2009?

  hi, i was df'd in jan 09. have not been in touch much with the jws apart from a few memorials i went to.. what with all the online presence they have nowadays, it just feels like a totally different religion.

  i have seen them with their tablets and phones at the hall, hardly any physical bibles or books at all, makes me think how ai (or the borg) could so easily change words and phrasing in the bible to suit them without making a big deal of it, like 'a new light' talk or wt article.

  doctrinally has much changed since 2009?.

  6 Consider a number of related questions. Several Bible accounts describe Jehovah’s judgments against unrighteous people, such as the unknown numbers who died in the Flood or the seven nations in the Promised Land that Jehovah ordered his people to devote to destruction or the 185,000 Assyrian soldiers slain by an angel of Jehovah in a single night. (Gen. 7:23; Isa. 37:36, 37) In these cases, does the Bible give us enough information to determine that Jehovah sentenced all those individuals to eternal destruction, with no hope of a resurrection? No, it does not. Why can we say that?

  7 We do not know how Jehovah judged each individual; nor do we know whether those who were killed had an opportunity to learn about Jehovah and to repent. In regard to the time of the Flood, the Bible does say that Noah was “a preacher of righteousness.” (2 Pet 2:5) But it does not say that while he was building a colossal ark, he was also attempting to reach every individual on earth who would face destruction in the Deluge. Similarly, in the case of the nations of Canaan, we do not know if all those wicked people had an opportunity to learn about Jehovah and change their ways.

  personally i think they gonna realise god's not backing org.

  that idea gonna get even more established in their minds.

  i think the real selling of kingdom hall gonna start then.

  I’m not surprised if shunning minors was the sticking point. I don’t see how anyone can defend that. Watchtower should either make a rule that you can’t get baptised until you’re an adult, or else make a rule that you can’t get DFed and/or shunned as a consequence if you’re a minor. If they don’t make some sort of compromise then it seems reasonable for the state to withdraw privileges and recognitions from a group which practices shunning of minors. In fact, you could argue it would be reasonable to go further and ban such a group outright unless they change the policy, because religious freedom is not a reasonable ground for harming children. You could argue that an adult has capacity to enter into an agreement that could result in shunning but I don’t see how you can make that argument with minors.

  I remember this being discussed in the late 1990s. They pointed out (I think at a convention) that the difference between dying in the flood and dying at Armageddon is you may get a resurrection if you died in the flood but not if you died at Armageddon. Therefore the fact children of unbelievers died in the flood (so the reasoning went) does not tell us whether or not children of unbelievers may survive Armageddon.

  is it proven they know that the drugs are dangerous before distributing them?

  Yes it has been, in a court of law, and compensation was paid, but not enough to deter them from doing it again unfortunately.

  Read about Sackler painkillers and about vioxx.

  As for whether the recent treatments were known to be harmful, it remains to be seen if the truth will come out. There are powerful interests that don’t want a proper investigation.

  Very interesting. I know JWs who were all in favour of vaccines at the start who now say they won’t take any more. There were a few deaths and strokes in the congregation close to taking the vaccines.

  I have a question for the propaganda believers.

  Are you aware that pharmaceutical companies have knowingly sold dangerous drugs to the public multiple times that has resulted in the deaths of millions of people? Search Sackler painkillers and Vioxx.

  My question is, why do you think that an industry that has a proven history of knowingly selling dangerous drugs to the public would never knowingly sell dangerous drugs to the public during the pandemic? Since it’s a matter of public record that this has happened many times before, why call it a “conspiracy theory” to point out the evidence that it has happened again?

  And do you believe the Russians blew up their own gas pipeline too?
