  I wonder if I’ll be able to grow a full beard in the time it takes his Lordship to get off his ass and make a token video about the Watchtower change of policy. 🤔

  Don’t bother yourself LE, I just checked and there are already half a dozen Youtube videos on the topic, others have got this already, you can go back relax, or whatever it is you do.

  Predictions for the next decade?

  as it’s nearly the new year my prediction over the next decade or so will see the sense of urgency dwindle.

  then some huge huge changes.

  for example by 2034 in a decades time, they will have address the 1914 issue and will come out and say we can’t be dogmatic.

  Or to put it a little less “dramatically” than that: there are internal and external factors involved in the growth or decline of religious movements. For the past 80 years or so calm external conditions have meant that internal factors (such as 1975, generation teaching, preaching, policies and so on) have tended to dictate the growth and decline of JWs. In the coming years external factors may not be as quiescent and may become more important in determining the growth or decline of JWs.

  In the period from 1945 to the present JWs have grown and stagnated in the western world against the backdrop of mostly peaceful and prosperous world conditions.

  I have a feeling this will not be the case between 2024 and 2034. Whatever growth or decline JWs experience in this decade will be dictated by seismic world events, whether that be political, social and environmental upheaval, world war, or run away technology. JWs could either thrive during a period of immense disorientation, or they could be swept away by the tide of events. In either case I think there will be more important things going on and to worry about as we find ourselves living in the curse of interesting times.

  With him it’s always a possibility that he’s lying, but he has had wealthy backers from the start. I think there was someone on here called Marvin who supported him years ago, and another American who would send him lots of money too. Maybe for some of these people it’s simply a case of throwing good money after bad because they can’t admit to themselves they were wrong about the guy.

  Plus is it possible that some pro-JW people are funnelling him money to keep him going? Keeping him on YouTube serves Watchtowers interests, so I don’t think it’s out of the question that he is getting some indirect support.

  Somebody gave him money and he went on holiday and that’s why he hasn’t met his fans like he said he would. Okay. But was there any reason he didn’t tell his fans this before disappearing? Obviously, aside from he just couldn’t be bothered/general disregard.

  By the sound of it he’s given up on Zoom calls altogether. What would he say to them anyway?

  His interviews were terrible. He got some pretty interesting people to come on the channel, like Jim Penton, but LE spent most of the time telling the interviewee how much he knows about the topic himself, and his own opinions on everything. A complete waste of everyone’s time.
  

  I think his channel might grind to a complete halt, but he’ll still collect the money, of course. The ironic thing at this point is that occasional videos probably only succeed in reminding a few of his absent-minded followers to unsubscribe. So he’s probably better off posting no videos at all than a paltry amount.

  DerekMoors I agree he’d probably get nowhere trying to take a job with a regular boss. But I guess that’s not what he’ll do, he’ll look for another opportunity to get other people to work for him for free. There’s plenty around. Our system is based on it.

  He’s a practiced confidence trickster. His main skill apparently has always been getting other people to work or do things for him for free. It might be a lot harder for him now, but he hasn’t suddenly lost that skill, so he’ll probably land on his feet at some point, to other people’s detriment.
