Somebody gave him money and he went on holiday and that’s why he hasn’t met his fans like he said he would. Okay. But was there any reason he didn’t tell his fans this before disappearing? Obviously, aside from he just couldn’t be bothered/general disregard.

By the sound of it he’s given up on Zoom calls altogether. What would he say to them anyway?
His interviews were terrible. He got some pretty interesting people to come on the channel, like Jim Penton, but LE spent most of the time telling the interviewee how much he knows about the topic himself, and his own opinions on everything. A complete waste of everyone’s time.
I think his channel might grind to a complete halt, but he’ll still collect the money, of course. The ironic thing at this point is that occasional videos probably only succeed in reminding a few of his absent-minded followers to unsubscribe. So he’s probably better off posting no videos at all than a paltry amount.

DerekMoors I agree he’d probably get nowhere trying to take a job with a regular boss. But I guess that’s not what he’ll do, he’ll look for another opportunity to get other people to work for him for free. There’s plenty around. Our system is based on it.

He’s a practiced confidence trickster. His main skill apparently has always been getting other people to work or do things for him for free. It might be a lot harder for him now, but he hasn’t suddenly lost that skill, so he’ll probably land on his feet at some point, to other people’s detriment.

Who will be killed at Armageddon?
by ExBethelitenowPIMA inif the current doctrine is that only baptised witnesses are going to survive and everyone else burns them what about this new update new light that some from before the flood and sodomites will be resurrected?.
but didn’t he mention at the agm something about there is no point jehovah killing them and then resurrecting them again?
it seems they are confused about what they teach and that’s why brother jackson joked about “is this what we used to believe or what we believe now?”.

I know what has been said about the AGM but I want to hear he the talks fully and in context before I am sure what they are now saying.
Not a comment you often hear about GB talks. Sometimes apostates and semi-apostates turn out to be the GB’s most devoted audience. 🤓

JWs are much closer to the biblical texts than other Christian groups in key teachings including: the importance of God’s name; that Jesus is the firstborn of all creation and subordinate to God; that Christians should be separate from the world and not take part in wars; that consciousness ends at death; that humans will be resurrected to a restored earth; that anointed Christians comprise the ‘Israel of God’; that all Christians must preach; and so on, this is not a complete list. The things they are wrong about are relatively minor and mainly to do with the end times, such as the Gentile Times ending in 1914 and the identity of the ‘faithful slave’. -

Is AI going to change the world?
by Reasonfirst inhad lunch with a friend, whose a lecturer in the accounting dept.
of one of australia's best universities.
he told me he expects to lose his job at some point in the next 5 years, as the accounting dept, will disappear, as all accounting will be done by ai programs, so why teach it.. if his fears are correct, that means that any profession that involves the mind, may one day face the same future.

Yes, zero reasoning is happening, but that doesn’t matter. What matters is outcomes. A computer can beat you at chess, solve protein folding that has eluded the best efforts of scientists for decades, and it can write more persuasive copy than any human can, and all the while zero reasoning is happening, only number crunching. Machines are not becoming conscious they are becoming capable, and their capability is increasing at an exponential rate. If it seems like they have a long way yet to go then remember that an exponential curve is already half way to a destination when only a tiny fraction of the ground has been covered. The story goes that it took scientist years to map just 1% of the human genome and despondent backers thought it would never be competed in their lifetimes. Somebody who knows how exponential progress work responded: “1% alread? Then you’re almost done!” And it was completed shortly after.
GPT2 produced incoherent strings of words
GPT4 is already passing the Turing test of output that humans find difficult to distinguish from a human being
What will GPT5 and 6 and 7 be like?
The world is going to change radically beyond recognition within a very short period of time.

It’s all very well saying that a bounce back after the pandemic was inevitable, but I know many churches that suffered huge losses during the pandemic … that continue to suffer even greater losses post pandemic. Membership of the Church of Scotland decreased 5% this year alone.
