I am sure one of the reasons they push shunning of disfellowshipped and disassociated children so hard is because they know some parents will leave everything to Watchtower as a result. Evil.

Investment departments in Bethel
by Mikejw ini was a bethelite in london for many years then got reassigned to the field and then went on brd from the start of chelmsford right upto covid.. during my years at the branch i was sometimes asked to be on a team who went to homes donated to the branch when some older one died.. this happenes an awful lot, everything is left to the branch in the will.
the unbelieving family is furious they didn’t get left anything and sometimes they tried to get their elderly relatives possessions and there was a legal battle .
but in the end a team of us would go and empty the property and another team would clean it up and put it on the market to sell it for the worldwide work.. all the possessions were sorted into trash or possibly valuable .

Somebody mentioned that the latest livestream only produced a couple of hundred dollars in donations for LE. This contrasts with $3000 in his confessional livestream. That’s down by over 90%. This is probably indicative, more than anything else, of the draining support away from his channel. No wonder he looks so glum.
Among all the response videos, one of the most compelling, I found, was the older American guy who had donated hundreds of dollars to LE but who said he could not in good conscience send him any more money. It was compelling because he was obviously a genuine and committed supporter who had only reluctantly come to the conclusion that LE is bad news. That’s an excellent video, but unfortunately now I can’t find it again!

Las M, that’s an excellent outline. Focus on a chapter at a time and I’m sure others will help when we can. Some graphics might be good to include as well, such as the graph showing patrons deserting, and a few particularly good humorous memes to lighten it up. Research shows (Cialdini) that two of the things we find most persuasive are 1) social proof and 2) appeals to authority. This means emphasising, over and over, just how many people have been put off by his behaviour, how many patrons have already abandoned his Patreon, the opinion of Dr Das and Andrew Gold as independent authorities, and other respected activists who have distanced themselves. These points are just as important as the depressing details of the case in convincing people. -

Bringing together a coherent narrative about what has happened is important in itself, and the important thing about putting it on Amazon in particular is that, at the moment, his own narrative stands there unchallenged. If there was an ebook and paperback that appeared alongside his own book in searches then it would give people opportunity to know what they are getting into with him.

Las Malv … you’ve been following this more closely than anyone. I wonder if you’d consider putting together a narrative of the whole scandal and post it as an ebook on Amazon? It would make more people aware and able to make an informed choice about whether to have anything to do with him, plus it would infuriate him but, because it remains purely factual, he couldn’t do anything about it and would underline that his threats are empty and his attempted censorship has failed.

I think a reference to a talk sometime that cited the “birdcatcher” in the Psalms (91:3), usually interpreted as Satan, using, among other things, apostasy to ensnare JWs and convert them to the the dark side.

This is not what I see at all. Rather than fading, many JWs have returned to the meetings during the pandemic and some who sat on the fence for years have got baptised. Currently the numbers are higher than they were at the start of the pandemic, despite a number of deaths.
I do think enthusiasm for writing letters has waned as the months have gone on, and people probably do spend more time chatting on Zoom than writing letters. Even so, a tremendous amount of latter writing has gone on, noted by other religious groups. (I attended a Unitarian service that was strangely based on JW letter writing)
Locally JWs were excited to get back on the carts, although I doubt they will be as happy about returning to door to door preaching.
I suspect they will lose some people if they push too hard for everyone to return to the Kingdom Hall instead of staying on Zoom. Some will respond to the pressure but others will just quit attending the meetings altogether.
I’ve been loosely associating and attending various kinds of religious meetings during the pandemic including: Unitarian, Christadelphian, Mormon, Presbyterian, Iglesia ni Cristo, and Quaker meetings. Most of these groups have seen a drop in participation, particularly Mormons, Unitarians, and mainline churches. Quakers have done a bit better. JWs have done better than any other group in keeping members engaged during the pandemic. They are struggling to get people to go back to the KH but not to the extent of other churches where this seems to be an even bigger problem.

What on earth is the difference between “engaging” and “dating” a sex worker? What is he talking about? He says others have “filthy minds”? This creep needs to get lost permanently. Who on earth is still supporting him? Plus isn’t prostitution actually a crime in the countries he’s admitted to. The thing he says is “no crime” literally is a crime!
Again he tries to manipulate the person into revealing their identity so he can target them, rather than give a straight answer to the fact that he is contradicting himself.

The graph shows he has lost nearly half his patrons already and it’s a steep downward curve.
The patrons are real numbers whereas the total income is an estimate. It’s worth bearing in mind that just a few large donors probably supply as much as most of the rest. One of those donors made a video where he said he formerly sent LE even more than the highest tier on his patron levels.
He gets money from patrons, ad revenue, and book sales - so a significant amount. But in somewhat decline. This doesn’t include money, gifts, travel paid for, books sent to him for free by supporters, which by the sounds of it was substantial.
