it seems to me scripturally speaking, that jehovah's witnesses are emphasizing the wrong name.. it should be jesus, not jehovah.

Hardly hidden, Jews were obviously aware that when saying the name Yehoshua, they were saying the divine name too, and the praise was to God through his Son. (See Matt 1:21)
Revelation 3:12 is proof that the early Christians knew the name of Jesus’ God.
The idea that you can count up each name as some sort of competition between them misses the point that all attention and praise for Jesus is “the to the glory of God the Father”. (Phil 2:11) So if you’re keeping count then the tally for Jehovah is all the direct references to Jehovah God plus the references to Jesus.

In his own time, the name Jesus was pronounced Yahoshua, and the divine name was pronounced Yaho. So every time the first Christians said the name Jesus (Yaho-shua) it reminded them that Jesus demonstrated by his words and his life that salvation is from Yaho. (See Acts 4:9-12)

The name Jesus literally means Jehovah is our salvation. Every time the name Jesus is used it is to the glory of his God. (Matt 1:21; John 17:6, 11; Rev 3:12)

Locally most JWs get updates like this in private WhatsApp groups, especially since the start of the pandemic. I don’t know if they do it the same everywhere. Are your parents in a local WhatsApp group?

interesting remark i overheard today.

the physical attendance for the sunday meeting, in my local area, was 10. i tried to find out those on zoom.

i was told that the zoom attendees wasn’t mentioned.

He talks as if the idea that he was forced out of the basement by his in laws would be some wild ‘conspiracy theory’ that some people might come up with. But at this point it’s the fact he’s been allowed to stay there for as long as he has that looks like it needs explaining.
It really doesn’t seem as though he is planning on giving up any time soon. Unfortunately he may just be able to ride this out. He’ll be pointing out that people like Leah Remini and Paul Grundy haven’t abandoned him and he will be looking for new recruits fresh out of Watchtower to perform various unpaid roles on his channel again.
I still think he is inflating his Patreon number somehow though, so that might still play out because that might save face for a while but it’s not sustainable in the long run.

I remember reading that appeals are only possible in cases of disfellowshipping not disassociation. Is that right?
