theresa may the british p.m. has called for an election.. the house of commons has to vote tomorrow and have a two-thirds majority to agree and the main opposition parties want it to happen too so it looks pretty certain to go ahead..

In 2016 the SNP stood on a manifesto that said they'd call a second referendum if Scotland was taken out of the EU against its will. The SNP won the election and Scotland is being taken out of the EU against its will. The SNP called for a referendum, and won the vote in partiament. The mandate could not be clearer. What have unionists got against democracy?
If the SNP stand again on a manifesto arguing for a second referendum, and win again, will Westminster still deny Scotland a vote!
Somebody asked how many referendums Scotland will have. As many referendums as Scotland votes for, quite obviously. If the SNP stand on a manifesto for a referendum, and win that election, that's democracy. It's perfectly simple.

Scotland voted No on the basis of UK in the EU.
Interesting that Scotland's referendum allowed all residents a vote. And a majority of Scots born in Scotland voted for independence. The No vote was secured from a majority of English and European voters. How will Europeans vote next time?
By contrast the European referendum excluded long term residents from Europe, some who have lived in the country for decades. What would have been the result if all residents including Europeans had been allowed to vote?
Another difference is 16 and 17 year olds were allowed to vote in the Scottish referendum.

If we send another landslide from Scotland how dare she refuse us a vote.
my g'daughter and her hubby are stationed in okinawa.. i talked with her a few hours earlier today, and she stated they're preparing for the worst.. young people are remarkably resilient, aren't they?.

Thanks for the annotated bibliography.
I wonder if you've read, or have any comment on Robert Crompton "Counting the Days to Armageddon: Jehovah's Witnesses and the Second Presence of Christ" - despite the title mostly about Russell period. The author has posted on this forum.
Or Detlef Garbe "Between Resistance and Martyrdom" or Paol Bregninge "Judgement Must Wait".

True enough, I agree with what you say.

Bruce is not an 'apostate' what ever that really is.
In Watchtower terms "apostate" has quite a clear definition. And Richard Rawe was definitely apostate in Watchtower terms.
If Bruce took calls from his friend Rawe after he became an apostate then it makes him a good human being (in my view) but also clearly a poor JW (according to their own rules).
nobody likes to be wrong.
so after being taught that they have "the truth" for so long, is it that jws just don't want to admit that they are wrong so they'll keep going in the same direction rather than reversing course?
this is different from indoctrination when you truly believe what you're saying.
Indeed most often a complex mixture of both.

Wasn't Richard Rawe a well known apostate? Did Nathan Natas say B W Schulz was friends with Rawe?
