The thing about the video: the participants should have known it was a joke. But on the other hand, is there anything in there that Trump absolutely couldn't have said himself? It's hard to say that because he's said so many ridiculous things. Was there anything in the spoof videos actually worse than joking about political assassination? You don't get much more stupid than that. And that was actual Trump, not spoof Trump.

The conclusion has got to be that Trump himself is actually a spoof, it's just that about a third of the country doesn't realise it. The idea that his whole campaign has been a deliberate attempt to help Hillary doesn't seem so far fetched.

The bald guy at the back was interesting. He seemed to think it was all a joke, but he supported it anyway. Which kind of sums up the attitude of Trump supporters.

if you value your privacy do not ever send your real contact details to anyone, even if you trust them (because their accounts could be hacked or accessed by their relatives - and yes, this happened to people i know several times already).

I am at a loss to know what they are trying to achieve. Are they trying to stop leaks? That's never going to happen. There will always be leaks, surely they realise that.

Or do they just like to think of themselves as virtual James Bond?

If they want embarrassing and damaging stuff to stop leaking then the only way to achieve that is to stop writing embarrassing and damaging stuff in the first place.

If their policies were humane, ethical and reasonable they wouldn't need to worry about keeping them blood secret!

Can anyone give a general assessment of their financial standing from this information? I find it hard to make sense of it. In particular they had a lot of money coming in last year. Was that the raid on Kingdom Hall funds? Is there a trend in donations up or down that can be discerned apart from atypical fluctuations.

I notice they mention litigation as their major risk.

It's hard to believe they're not facing a financial crisis.

1. They've largely lost their main source of income - book publishing.

2. Their members are increasinly badly educated, poor, and disinclined to give large donations.

3. They face mounting legal costs.

I would go so far as to say that, all things considered, if they manage to avoid a crisis in these circumstances, they should be regarded as strategic geniuses.

I notice that all the directors have as their occupation "minister of religion" apart from Milton Henschel who was listed as "executive" amd Stephen Albert Hardy who was listed as "writer".

Thanks shepherdless. The information about the average age of JWs getting older is very interesting because increasing average ages of religious believers are strongly correlated with decline.

And an increase in average age of 2.3 years after only 5 years is pretty huge.

Having said that, the average age of severely declining churches in the UK such as the Anglicans, Methodists and Presbyterians tends to be in the 50s or older.
