The WTS interpretation of this story, is not the only way Christian religions interpret it. Four ways: 1. Perpetual Virgin: Many Christians believe Jephthah's vow was to dedicate his daughter as a perpetual virgin, a lifelong service to the Lord. 2. Literal Sacrifice: Some interpretations suggest that Jephthah did kill his daughter as part of his vow, but this is less widely accepted 3. Symbolic Dedication: Many scholars and theologians believe that Jephthah's vow was a symbolic act of dedication, not a literal sacrifice 4. Other Interpretations: Some see the story as a cautionary tale about the dangers of rash vows and the importance of careful consideration before making promise

Jephthah's Daughter
by cantleave ini have read somewhere that jephthah's daughter did not really go into temple service but was a victim of ritual sacrifice.
the bible says that after weeping over her virginity that the maidens would visit her annually.
how could they visit her if she was killed?.

Inviting People to Meetings
by HereIam60 inthe current memorial invitation campaign got me thinking about the few times over the years that someone i invited to a meeting actually came: .
1) once when i was "new", i invited a friend to a sunday meeting.

Blood decisions are now your problem: WT JULY 2025
by raymond frantz inthe following is from the latest study watchtower july 2025, study article 28, paragraph 17:.
each christian must make up his or her own mind about whether to accept or to reject these fractions.
we may find it a challenge to understand this matter fully, but making decisions like this is part of the load that each of us must carry.

17 How might a similar situation arise today? Consider the matter of blood fractions. Each Christian must make up his or her own mind about whether to accept or to reject these fractions. c We may find it a challenge to understand this matter fully, but making decisions like this is part of the load that each of us must carry. (Rom. 14:4) If we were to copy what somebody else decided to do, we could weaken our own conscience. We can train and improve our conscience only by using it. (Heb. 5:14) So when should we ask a mature Christian for advice? Yes, I did, I was on the 1) lower level because my father was not a jw and was considered to have contaminated my brother and me. 2) Then I became a pioneer and had many jw relatives, 3 elders and one MS. 3) Then my husband became an elder and one elder up came up and intimated that now I was considered more "spriritual" and I also learned how many parties the elders had for only elders and their wives. Moving on up?

I was a Physically In Mentally Out (PIMO) for several years before I stopped going. I never invited people to the KH then, why should they get involved with the same unloving organization and group of people I experienced every day. I even went back to people I had studied with and called on, and warned them not to get involved with the WTS. -

Duran, when going in the "ministry" people would tell me that they were going to heaven, it would a better place than living on earth. But those people were not in a hurry to go to heaven. I would ask respectfully, "but then why don't people just send themselves to heaven earlier?" Probably they still enjoy life on earth....

Never (but I never publicized my opinion, that would have gotten me in trouble), I figured Abraham did not know when the prediction by god that he would make a nation out of him through his son Isaac. Noah did not know exactly when the flood would come. And Jesus said here that his followers could not determine when it would happen. Matthew 24:44 :On this account, you too prove yourselves ready, because the Son of man is coming at an hour that you do not think to be it. (that is if you thought you figured out when, then it had to be wrong.) The WTS even commented on this scripture saying: "A thief does not announce in advance when he is coming. He hopes to arrive when no one is expecting him. Similarly, as Jesus said, the end of this system will come at ‘an hour that we do not think to be it.’" WT 2003 1/1 p.19 (Remember I am just reporting not supporting)

WT JULY 2025 MAKE DECISIONS
However, if we are humble and modest, we will be quick to absorb the Bible-based advice we hear and to benefit from it.
And like David, we should be willing to listen to good advice, no matter who gives it.
An unmarried friend might be helpful if he bases his advice on Bible principles. But the young brother is likely to receive advice that is more specific and practical if he consults a spiritually mature couple who know him well and who have been happily married for some time.
We could ask ourselves, ‘Do I ask for advice and then immediately reject it because it is not what I want to hear?
The elder reminds the brother of the Bible principle
Each of us has the responsibility to make his or her own decisions.
How might a similar situation arise today? Consider the matter of blood fractions. Each Christian must make up his or her own mind about whether to accept or to reject these fractions.
We may find it a challenge to understand this matter fully, but making decisions like this is part of the load that each of us must carry.
So when should we ask a mature Christian for advice? After we have done our own research but still need help in understanding how Bible principles relate to our situation.
Jehovah has shown great trust in us by allowing us to make our own decisions.
Christians may at times wisely consult those who do not worship Jehovah regarding financial, medical, or other matters.
